Thus, sweeping performance of the washer nozzle (10, 110) and a washer apparatus (4) is improved such that the directional jet flow is not substantially affected by airflow during high-speed driving so that the washer fluid is effectively utilized so as to be sprayed and supplied to areas that are prone to be left unwashed.

A spraying device comprising a housing 12 containing a top and bottom portion defining a chamber therein for fluid ingress and egress into the bottom portion wherein the housing includes an outer structure 18 containing an inner structure 16 , and a tensioning device 22 which releasably positions the outer structure at the housing bottom. The inner structure 16 is engaged to an arm member 20 for spraying said fluid, such that the inner structure causes the arm member to move in a linear and rotating relationship relative to housing. The outer structure 18 and inner structure 16 are engaged to one another such that the outer structure 18 causes the inner structure to move in a linear and rotating relationship relative to the housing. The ingress of fluid in the chamber causes the inner and outer structures to move linearly and at a predetermined point the inner structure is prevented from moving in the liner direction while the outer structure continues to move linearly, thereby causing said inner structure to rotate.

A vehicle nozzle system having a source of washer liquid (14) under pressure, a fluidic oscillator (11) comprising a housing and a fluidic insert having a power nozzle, an oscillation chamber (oc) having an upstream end (pn) coupled to the power nozzle for issuing a jet of washer liquid into the oscillation chamber and a downstream end having an outlet aperture (oc'') for issuing a jet of wash liquid to ambient, and side and top and bottom walls, an oscillation inducing silhouette in the oscillation chamber for causing said jet of wash liquid to rhythmically sweep back and forth between the sidewalls in the oscillation chamber. Top and bottom walls of the oscillation chamber first diverge for a predetermined distance in a downstream direction and then convert towards each other through said outlet aperture. This enables the deflection angle to be adjusted for different vehicles and applications by changes to the fluidic insert without changes to the housing.
