Es wird ein Verfahren zur Inbetriebnahme einer Kettenwirkmaschine angegeben, die mindestens eine Barre mit ersten Nadeln aufweist, die gegenüber einem Träger mit zweiten Nadeln durch einen Positionierantrieb in Versatzrichtung verlagerbar ist, der einen Rotationsmotor und eine Getriebeeinrichtung aufweist, bei dem man die Barre in eine erste Position verlagert, in der sich die ersten Nadeln in Nadelgassen zwischen den zweiten Nadeln befinden, und diese erste Position abspeichert. Man möchte auf einfache Weise Voraussetzungen für einen störungsfreien Betrieb schaffen können. Hierzu ist vorgesehen, daß man die Barre mit Hilfe des Positionierantriebs um einen vorbestimmten Stellweg in eine zweite Position verlagert, überprüft, ob sich die ersten Nadeln jeweils in einem vorbestimmten Bereich einer Nadelgasse zwischen zweiten Nadeln befinden, und, wenn dies nicht der Fall ist, mit Hilfe des Positionierantriebs eine Korrekturbewegung durchführt, bis sich die ersten Nadeln in dem vorbestimmten Bereich befinden, aus der Korrekturbewegung eine Korrekturgröße errechnet und diese Korrekturgröße zur künftigen Verwendung durch den Positionierantrieb abspeichert.

Eine Kettenwirkmaschine weist eine Barre auf, die um vorbestimmte Wege versetzbar ist. An beiden Enden der Barre greift jeweils ein Motor (4, 7) an. Mittels einer Steuervorrichtung (18) zieht der erste Motor (4 bzw. 7) die Barre um vorbestimmte Wege in der einen Versatzrichtung und der zweite Motor (7 bzw. 4) die Barre (1) um vorbestimmte Wege in der anderen Versatzrichtung. Der jeweils andere Motor übt eine entgegengerichtete Spannkraft (S2, S1) auf die Barre (1) aus. Die Barre ist vorzugsweise ein biegsames Band (1) Dies erlaubt höhere Betriebsgeschwindigkeiten und/oder geringere Zugkräfte.

A patterning device for warp knitting machines, in which a stator for a linear pulse motor is assembled on a holding member and a plurality of movers are provided on the same holding member at proper intervals with a part of the movers serving as guide points, and in which the linear pulse motor is made thin, and an erroneous operation such as loss of synchronism is prevented in position control to afford stable positioning in the event of power outage and external noises. Thus poles of the movers (4) are disposed to face poles on both sides of the stator (18) assembled in the holding member (3). Mover driving coils (17) on the poles of the movers are combined with NS direction of two field magnets (15a, 15b) facing the poles of the stator (18) and tooth profiles of the poles of the stator so that magnetic paths of the field magnets are oriented in the same direction. Also, in a control method, positioning accuracy reliability of the movers is enhanced and an erroneous operations such as loss of synchronism are eliminated by providing position sensors in association with the both poles and controlling an exciting condition by means of parameters. Further, ranges, in which the movers act, are enlarged by dispensing with signal cables for connection to the movers. Microcomputers are loaded on the movers to decrease an amount of information over induction lines.

An apparatus and a control method for adapting moving bodies to high-speed operation of a pattern making device for a warp knitting machine which is adapted to carry out a patterning operation by providing an arbitrary number of moving bodies, at least some of which constitute guide points, in a guide path so that the moving bodies can be moved on the basis of the driving means, and displacing each guide point on an arbitrary direction by a desired amount on the basis of a signal from an electronic controller to each moving body and thereby positioning the same, characterized in that an auxiliary driving means for supplementing the driving force from the driving means when the pattern device is started and operated in accordance with the lapping of the moving bodies is additionally provided. For example, the supplementing of the driving force is done by utilizing a force of the pressure air blown out and diffused from nozzles provided on some of the moving bodies, or blowing air from a nozzle directed to the moving bodies. A signal sent to the moving bodies, for example, a pulse signal is set to one pulse per gauge pitch, whereby a position in which the moving bodies are to be stopped is reliably set between knitting needles.

The device for transmitting the controlled amount of displacement to the output shaft (8) comprises support members (16) fixedly secured to the frame (2), a plurality of sliding members (18) carried at one end by the carriers (10a, 10b) and linked at the other end to pulleys (22, 24) mounted on coupling members (26), and a device for releasably connecting the support members (16) with the sliding members 18. The coupling members are linked to each other in a series by band members (28 30), so as to combine the displacements of the sliding members (18), to a final total displacement which is transmitted to the output shaft (8).
