Beim Start erhalten die Spinnstellen unterschiedlich gefüllte Faserbandkannen vorgelegt, so daß es beim ersten Leerwerden der Kannen und auch später nicht mehr oder nur rein zufällig einmal vorkommt, daß mehrere Kannen gleichzeitig zum Kannenwechsel anstehen. Zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt vor dem Beenden der Partie wird ein Bandzählwerk in Gang gesetzt, das von nun an zu jedem Zeitpunkt die maximal noch verfügbare Spinnzeit beziehungsweise Faserbandlänge bestimmt, und wenn nun ein Spulenwechsel ansteht, wird automatisch errechnet, wie viele volle Spulen innerhalb der dann noch maximal möglichen Spinnzeit an dieser Spinnstelle fertiggewickelt werden können. Mit Beginn der Fertigstellung der ersten Spule dieser Anzahl wird eine automatische Faserbandlängenerfassung durchgeführt, und wenn daraufhin eine Kanne leer wird, wird automatisch ermittelt, wieviel Faserband die neue Kanne enthalten muß, damit die vorgegebene Anzahl Spulen fertiggewickelt werden kann. Eine automatische Fülleinrichtung füllt diese ermittelte Faserbandmenge in die letzte Kanne ein, und die Spinnstelle verarbeitet diese Füllmenge, aus der sich dann ohne Faserbandrest die gewünschte Anzahl Spulen ergibt.

This equipment enables the bobbins to be accurately positioned on the spindles and removed from the spindles without the problems which arise from the use of inflatable sleeves.

An apparatus for preventing an unwinding of a roving end from a full package roving bobbin (4) during the transportation thereof. This apparatus is constructed in combination with the transportation mechanism formed in the known doffing mechanism or known overhead roving bobbin transportation system, in a condition such that a part of the constitutional mechanical elements of such known transportation mechanisms are utilized as a part of the constitutional mechanical elements of the apparatus according to the present invention. In the apparatus of the present invention, a pressing member (35a) is utilized for applying pressure against the peripheral face of the winding portion of each roving bobbin (4) while this bobbin is rotating, and therefore the free end of the roving is firmly attached to the above-mentioned peripheral face of the robing bobbin. Consequently, any possible problems due to an unexpected unwinding of the roving can be effectively prevented.

A method and system for facilitating a continuous and automated taking-off of yarn from yarn packages (13). A creel module (10) having one or a plurality of yarn package receiving creel pins (12) disposed in one or more rows is automatically loaded with yarn packages at a loading position. The loaded module is conveyed, optionally through a buffer storage system (57), to operative association with a stationary creel frame (17). The module is transferred from the conveying mechanism (15) to the creel frame, and is mounted with respect to the creel frame so that the yarn may be taken off the packages thereof. After the yarn from the module packages has been exhausted, the module is removed from the creel frame and conveyed back to the loading position, while it is replaced with another, loaded, module. Two modules, each with two rows of yarn packages, may be provided at each creeling position on the creel frame, the yarn taken off each of the packages of each row of each module at the creeling position in succession, and each module when exhausted being replaced by a loaded module.
