A dispersion composition for black matrixes which comprises: manganese oxide having an average particle diameter of 50 to 2,000 nm or a manganese oxide/ferric oxide solid solution having an average particle diameter of 50 to 2,000 nm and a manganese content of 15 to 70 wt.%; a water-compatible acrylic resin; at least one dispersant selected from the group consisting of sodium, ammonium, or potassium salts of water-compatible acrylic resins and sodium, ammonium, or potassium salts of polycarboxylic acids, lignosulfonic acid, or bisphenolsulfonic acids; and water or a mixture of water and an organic solvent compatible therewith. The dispersion composition is highly effective in diminishing reflection by a light-absorbing layer on its surface in contact with a panel. Thus, a display, such as a color cathode-ray tube, can have a display surface on which external light is less apt to be reflected.

A process is described for forming an emissive or phosphor screen. The process comprises the steps of: a) providing a thermal mass donor element comprising a substrate with a front side and a back side, with a coating of emissive material or phosphor adhered to said front side of said substrate; b) placing said coating of emissive material or phosphor adjacent to a support layer; c) addressing said mass donor element with coherent radiation to heat at least a portion of said coating of emissive material or phosphor to locally transfer at least some of said emissive material or phosphor to said support layer; d) repeating step c) a sufficient number of times to provide a coating of transferred emissive material or phosphor on said support layer in an area of at least 1 square centimeter.

摘要:
Openings are created in a structure by a process in which a plate is furnished with a sacrificial patterned masking layer divided into multiple laterally separated mask portions. A primary layer of actinic material is provided over the masking layer and in space between the mask portions. Material of the primary layer not shadowed by a mask formed with the mask portions is backside exposed to actinic radiation. Material of the primary layer not exposed to the radiation is removed. Segments of the masking layer not covered by exposed material of the primary layer are then removed. Consequently, openings extend through the primary layer where the segments of the masking layer have been removed. The process is typically employed in forming an optical device such as a flat-panel cathode-ray tube display in which the openings in the primary layer receive light-emissive material.

Since a widely applicable high quality plasma display equipped with a phosphor layer suitable as a highly precise plasma display can be produced continuously at a high productivity level, an industrially advantageous method and apparatus for producing a plasma display can be provided. The highly precise plasma display obtained in the present invention can be widely used in the display field, for example, for wall mounted television sets, information displays, etc. The method for producing a plasma display of the present invention comprises the step of continuously applying a phosphor paste containing a phosphor powder and an organic compound onto a substrate with a plurality of barrier ribs , from a paste applicator with a plurality of outlet holes. Furthermore, the present invention comprises the steps of coating a substrate with a plurality of barrier ribs , with three phosphor pastes respectively containing a phosphor powder emitting light of red, green or blue, as stripes in the spaces between the respectively adjacent barrier ribs on the substrate, from a paste applicator with outlet holes, and heating to form a phosphor layer. Moreover, the apparatus for producing a plasma display of the present invention comprises a table for fixing a substrate with a plurality of barrier ribs , a paste applicator with a plurality of outlet holes to face the barrier ribs of the substrate, a supply means for supplying a phosphor paste to the paste applicator, and a moving means for three-dimensionally moving the table and the paste applicator relatively each other.

Disclosed are a process for preparing a phosphor pattern of the present invention comprises the steps of:
(I) forming a phosphor-containing photosensitive resin composition layer (A) on a substrate having unevenness, (II) irradiating a scattered light to the layer (A) imagewisely, (III) developing the layer (A) by removing the portion to which the scattered light is imagewisely irradiated to form a pattern, and (IV) calcinating the formed pattern to remove an unnecessary portion from the pattern formed in the step (III) to form a phosphor pattern, a phosphor pattern produced by the above process and a back plate for the plasma display panel provided with the phosphor pattern on a substrate for a plasma display panel.
摘要:
In manufacturing a phosphor screen of a color picture tube, a cured resist layer used in a photolithography process for a black matrix pattern may remain on a hole portion of the black matrix pattern formed on the inner surface of a glass panel without being removed completely in the washing process. In such a case, the pigment of a first optical filter layer remains adhered to the surface of the remained resist layer. This adhered pigment degrades substantially the brightness of luminescent colors of two other phosphors. Therefore, among the three color optical filter layers, the green optical filter layer, which has the minimum difference between a peak transmittance and a transmittance in other wavelength regions, is formed first. Accordingly, a level of an adverse effect of the remained green pigment on the emission of the blue and red phosphors can be suppressed to minimum.
