摘要: A method of producing a frothed liquid, such as a milk shake or whipped cream is disclosed. The method involves the steps of filling a container (which may be of PET) to approximately one third capacity, then filling the remaining headspace with pressurised gas, for example at 120 psi, and sealing the container. Once the contents have reached equilibrium, the seal is breached to produce the frothed liquid. The method, and containers, disclosed have many significant advantages over known arrangements, in particular, there are significant cost savings associated with the method and containers of the present invention.

摘要: A composite container (10) is provided for vacuum packaging of products which is constructed, as follows. A hollow body portion (12) defines a desired shape for the container (10) and has an inside surface (13). A liner layer (30) is in superimposed position within the body portion (12) and covers the inside surface (13) for receiving the product (P) inside the liner layer (30) and the body portion (12) of the container. An elastic material (40) is positioned between the body portion (12) and the liner layer (30) for movably attaching the liner layer (30) to the body portion (12) in the superimposed position while allowing the liner layer (30) to constrict and move away from the body portion (12) by stretching of the elastic material (40) when a vacuum is formed on the product (P) packaged in the container (10) and then allowing the liner layer (30) to move back into the superimposed position within the body portion (12) of the container by retraction of the elastic material (40) when the container (10) is opened and the vacuum on the product (P) is removed.

摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus for cooling and/or gassifying a liquid (12) stored in a container (10) having an outlet (10b). The apparatus comprises an adsorbent (14) for receiving and adsorbing under pressure a quantity of gas and a three position cap (16). In a first position, said cap (16) simply acts to seal the contents within the container whilst in a second position it acts to cause release of adsorbed gas from adsorbent (14) which then passes through the beverage (12) thereby gassifying and/or cooling said beverage. A third position of the cap (16) allows for its removal from container (10) such that the beverage may be dispensed. The container may be provided with a thermochromatic coating to indicate when the liquid is at a predetermined temperature.

摘要: A method of packaging a beverage having gas in solution and a beverage package has a container 10 containing the beverage 6 to form a headspace 15. Floating on the beverage 6 is a hollow spherical capsule having a restricted aperture 7. During sealing of the container 10 by a top 20 the headspace 15 is pressurised (by a nitrogen dose 16) and during such pressurisation the insert 1 is raised relative to its natural floating position on the beverage 6 to ensure that the aperture 7 communicates with the headspace 15 to pressurise the chamber of that insert. The aforementioned raising of the insert 1 is preferably achieved by subjecting the insert to a centrifugal force during rotation of the container in seaming the top 20 thereto or by magnetic attraction. Following pressurisation of the headspace 15 the insert is lowered to float naturally on the beverage 6 with its aperture 7 submerged. During pressurisation the insert 1 may take in a minimal volume of beverage from the container. When the container is opened by ring pull 25 a pressure differential develops causing fluid under pressure to be ejected from the insert 1 through the aperture 7 into the beverage 6 for liberating gas from solution and the development of froth on the beverage.
