By providing separate, easily mountable members (20,21,72,73,90,94) which incorporate finger/thumb receiving and holding zones (26,27,81,82,95,96) constructed for use and access by individuals with reduced or impaired manual dexterity, a control improving and enhancing system is achieved which is mountable directly to conventional implements, such as manicure implements. Preferably, each control improving and enhancing system is constructed for being quickly and easily securely mounted to existing implements and may be removable therefrom for use on other implements. In addition, each control improving and enhancing system is constructed with enlarged, specially constructed, readily accessible, easily employable finger/thumb receiving and supporting zones (26,27,81,82,95,96) which are positioned to assure complete operational control of the implement, thereby enabling individuals with reduced or impaired manual dexterity, or with varying stages of joint diseases, such as arthritis, to naturally and confidently use the implements.

This invention is directed to a nail shielding device for use in applying a formaldehyde-containing liquid nail-hardening composition to human nails while protecting the cuticle and surrounding soft skin tissue from contact with said liquid compositions. The shielding device consists of an integral device having a forward end which is placed under the white tip of the nail, side and bottom (2) portions which cover skin adjacentto the side edges of the nail and the bottom portion of the finger (10) a rear portion to cover the cuticle and skin to the rear of the cuticle, and two transverse apertures (4,5) between the forward and rearward edges.

The disclosed device relates to a multiple lighting mode LED lamp. The lamp (2) has an LED assembly (4) with a plurality of white LEDs (12) for a first illumination source, and a plurality of UV LEDs (20) for a second illumination source. The LED assembly (4) is attached to the first end of a flexible support (6), and a base (8) is attached to the second end of the flexible support (6). The lamp base (8) incorporates an LED driver module (72) in electrical communication with the illumination sources. A manual touch switch (10) in the base (8), when touched by a user activates the white LEDs (12) to operate the lamp in a lighting mode. A motion sensor (66) in the form of an infrared induction sensor, is incorporated into the face of the LED assembly (4) for detecting motion. Upon motion being detected, the UV LEDs (20) are activated for a predetermined period of time to operate in UV light mode.
