An apparatus, used for holding a coupling pin (15) at a desired position in a pin-coupled structure regardless of a relative movement of two or more pin-coupled parts in the structure, is disclosed. This pin holding apparatus has two pin holding blocks (3), with an elastic member (5) interposed between the two pin holding blocks, and is inserted into a pin slot (17) with the two holding blocks radially compressed by an external force to reduce the outer diameter of the apparatus. The apparatus elastically expands in the pin slot (17) due to the restoring force of the compressed elastic member (5) when the external force is removed from the apparatus, thus being set in an annular groove formed on the inner surface of the pin slot and holding the pin (15) at its desired position in the pin slot. The pin holding apparatus is easily set in and removed from the pin slot (17). This pin holding apparatus also has an elastic cushion (11), which is positioned at the junction of the pin (15) and the pin holding apparatus, thus almost completely preventing a breakage of the pin.

Im entlasteten Zustand bildet der äußere Tellerrand einen geschlossenen Außenring (6), der im Klammerzustand sich radial nach außen segmentweise spreizt. Der Tellerboden (4) besitzt mindestens drei zur Tellermitte gerichtete Federzungen (3), die beim Festklemmen des stabförmigen Elementes einseitig verbogen sind.

A braking apparatus performs its braking action by pressing a brake bush (74L,74R) radially inwardly against a rod (22). The brake bush (74L,74R) is pressed via a plurality of coned disk springs (3L,3R;3), each of which has a plurality of outer and inner radial recesses (3a,3b) extending from its outer and inner peripheral edges, respectively. The outer and inner recesses (3a,3b) are arranged in an alternating fashion along the circumference of the spring (3). As a brake piston (69L,69R) moves in the axial direction of the rod (22), the inner peripheral edge of each of the springs (3a,3b) is compressed or deformed radially inwardly. The brake piston (69L,69R) is moved by compressed air supplied from outside. By increasing the radial length of each of the inner radial recesses (3b) of the coned disk springs (3) in such a manner that the radial outward end (3b') of the recess is located far beyond the radial inward end (3a') of each adjacent outer radial recess (3a), it is permitted to provide at least three or more coned disk springs (3) around the brake bush (74L,74R). Thus, abrasion of each coned disk spring (3) can be minimized, and durability of the braking apparatus can be greatly enhanced. Further, by forming each of the coned disk springs (3) so as to have a rectangular sectional shape, it is possible for the braking apparatus to perform a sufficient braking function even when the outer and inner peripheral edges of the coned disk springs (3) have been abraded to a considerable degree.

A mechanical lock, e.g. for automotive seats, has an axially translatable lock rod (14) in a sheet metal housing (12), with an axially-fixed clutch coil element (74, 76) wound about the rod (14) and likewise located inside the housing. The clutch coil element (74, 76) grips the rod (14) and prevents it moving axially until the grip is released by causing the coil element (74, 76) to unwind slightly and thereby expand. The coil element comprises two coil segments (74 and 76) which are interconnected integrally by a coil segment (22) which serves as an actuating lever manipulatable to release the grip of the coil element on the rod. The lock is made by stamping a sheet metal blank (28) into two half-shells (66a and b) of semi-cylindrical form interconnected by a longitudinal hinge line (68), hinging and partly closing the shells together, inserting the rod (14) and coil spring element (74, 76) between the half-shells, and thereafter closing the half-shells and securing them together about the rod (14) and spring element (74, 76) by way of interfolded lugs.
