摘要:
An adjustable pipe bend comprises two pipe bend parts (10, 12) having abutting end portions (14, 16) extending in a plane which is inclined, an angle α of 22.5° relative to a plane perpendicular to the main axis (18, 20) of the respective pipe bend part (10, 12). The pipe bend parts (10, 12) are rotatably connected to each other at said end portions (14, 16) for rotation about an axis perpendicular to said inclined plane by means of snap-lock connecting elements (22, 24) placed outside the light borings (26, 28) of said pipe bend parts (10, 12). Each connecting element is shaped as a body of rotation about said axis of rotation, and the snap-lock connection includes an O-ring seal (30). The pipe bend may optionally be set to any bending angle between 0° and 45° by turning the two pipe bend parts (10, 12) relative to each other, and in any position of the two pipe bend parts (10, 12), their main axis (18, 20) will either intersect each other or be substantially coincident.

An elbow (22) for use in effecting short radius turns in fluent transport systems while overcoming the previous problem of high wear at the turn. The subject elbow (22) includes entry (24) and exit (26) ports at right angles to each other, an arcuate channel (28) extending between the ports, and a chamber (32) aligned with but axially offset from the entryport. The effect of this chamber (32) is to provide abrasive resistance for the elbow by allowing a soft plug of the fluent material to form therein. The material forming the plug will rotate in a vortex manner in the chamber. The subsequently passing fluent material will deflect off of the soft plug rather than rub on the walls of the elbow while making the direction change. The elbow may be provided with an optional purge vent (36) entering into the chamber.

The invention concerned relates to an articulated coupling particularly for adjusting the jet inclination of irrigators in general, comprising two curved or straight consecutive tubular members in constant direct communication with each other, which, at their facing contacting mouths, comprise profiled ends arranged to enable them to be mutually adjusted angularly about a diametrical axis of articulation; seal means disposed on the inside of said mouths and arranged to automatically adapt to said adjustment; an adjustment device for said two tubular members, the control member of which lies in the mutual swivel plane of these latter; and a guide and connecting clamp for the tubular members, the longitudinal axis of which coincides with the axis of articulation of the coupling.
