Provided is greaseproof paper that, when folded, shows little reduction in grease resistance at the folded portion. The greaseproof paper includes a paper base and a greaseproof layer provided on at least one surface of the paper base, wherein the greaseproof layer includes an ethylene-vinyl alcohol-vinyl ester copolymer (A) and a fatty acid derivative (B), contains 1 to 100 parts by mass of the component (B) per 100 parts by mass of the component (A), and is in an amount of 0.5 to 5.0 g/m 2 in terms of dry mass. In the greaseproof paper, the ethylene-vinyl alcohol-vinyl ester copolymer (A) has a content of ethylene units of 1 to 15 mol%, has a total content of vinyl alcohol units and vinyl ester units of 85 to 99 mol%, and has a degree of polymerization of 300 to 2000. In the greaseproof paper, the fatty acid derivative (B) is a fatty acid amide compound.

The present invention relates to coating slips containing a dextrin with a high amylopectin content. When such a dextrin is in the form of an adhesive it confers excellent stability on said adhesive. Once incorporated into the coating slip, this adhesive makes it possible to regulate the Brookfield viscosity, while at the same time providing a good compromise between water retention and rheological behaviour at high shear gradient. The present invention also relates to the use of this dextrin for manufacturing a coating slip. It is also directed towards a method for manufacturing a paper or a cardboard, coated on at least one side thereof with a slip according to the invention. Finally, it encompasses the resulting papers and cardboards.

In one or more embodiments, the present disclosure provides for a process for preparing a dispersion of starch particles in an aqueous liquid. In one or more embodiments, the process includes introducing a feed starch and the aqueous liquid into a rotor stator mixer, maintaining the feed starch and the aqueous liquid in the rotor stator mixer at a temperature ranging from a gelation temperature to less than a solubilization temperature, and shearing the feed starch into starch particles with the rotor stator mixer to form the dispersion of starch particles in the aqueous liquid. In one or more embodiments, the starch particles produced by this process have an average particle size diameter of no larger than 2 micrometers and the dispersion has 20 to 65 weight percent of the starch particles based on a total weight of the dispersion.
