The invention relates to an article made, at least in part, by shearing a fiber source to provide a first fibrous material; (12) and passing the first fibrous material through a first screen (16) having an average opening size of 1.59 mm or less (1/16 Inch, 0.0625 inch) to provide a second fibrous material (14); mixing the second fibrous material with a radiation cross-linkable resin to provide a fibrous material/cross-linkable resin combination, wherein the fibrous material has an average length to diameter ratio of greater than 5 and a standard deviation of a fiber length is less than eighty five percent of an average fiber length; and irradiating the fibrous material/cross-linkable resin combination to at least partially cross link the cross-linkable resin to form the article.

The invention relates to a method for producing paper or cardboard, which comprises adding (I) an aqueous composition having a pH ≤6 and (II) at least one water-soluble polymeric anionic compound to a paper stock having a pH in the range from 6 to 8, and then dewatering the paper stock, forming sheets and drying, where the aqueous composition comprises (a) polymers having primary amino groups and/or amidine groups, with a total content of these groups of ≥1.5 meq/g polymer, and (b) 0.01 to 50 mol% of 1,4-cyclohexanedione (b), based on the total amount of primary amino groups and/or amidine groups in the polymers, and also to the paper or cardboard produced accordingly.

The additive composition includes at least one filming agent and at least one active agent, the filming agent being fixed on the web and the active agent being retained on the web by the filming agent, the active agent being an antimicrobial agent.

The invention relates to an adhesive tape which achieves a score of at least one out of three in the application test (test A), comprising an impregnated uncreped paper support, on one side of which an adhesive compound is applied with a compound coverage of 20 to 50 g/m 2 , the impregnated uncreped paper support having the following properties at the same time (prior to the application of the adhesive compound): • an application of impregnating agent (dry) between 5 and 25 g/m 2 , • a thickness between 50 µm and 90 µm, • an elongation at break between 3 and 8%, • a flexural rigidity between 0.015 mNm and 0.035 mNm in the machine direction, • a flexural rigidity between 0.005 mNm and 0.025 mNm in the transverse direction, and • an air permeability between 0.06 and 1.5 cm 3 /(cm 2* min).
