A method and a device (1) respectively designed to treat a paper web (12) by using heat radiation from infrared lamps (4) and cooling air, which flows around these lamps and against the paper web, glass plates (9) being used to shield the paper web from the infrared lamps and inserted in glass holders (8), in connection with which the cooling air is ejected against the paper web and is sucked off again. In order to improve the total efficiency, particularly as to an even and efficient drying of the paper web without using more but rather less energy the cooling air ejection holes adjacent the glass holders are designed as nozzles (19) directed against the paper web and having a steplessly adjustable gap width. The gap extends across all the width of the paper web and the cooling air is ejected from it with a high speed, forming a knife to tear apart the boundary layer of humid air which follows the paper web and subject the paper web to more intense heat treatment and a removal of additional parts of said boundary layer, when the paper web leaves the treatment area respectively.

About the hinge between the basic bar and the upper arm a lock (18) having a lock recess (21) is mounted, rotatable in a limited way and designed to interact with a holding element (22), which projects from the lower arm. The lock recess is limited in its outermost part by guide surfaces (29, 30) for the holding element and its innermost part has an extension, which runs with an acute angle in relation to a line between any part of the recess and the swinging center (19) of the lock, mainly designed to, during the last part of the swinging movement of the frame, give the lock an idle position, which takes up less space, and allow the frame to occupy a somewhat further outwardly swung partially open position. From the disc-shaped lock an angled actuation means (35) projects outwards towards the center of the frame and constitutes one of the limits of a security recess (31), designed to limit the swinging movements of the lock.

In accordance with the invention the sliding armature (15) is provided with a locking shoulder (36), which, when the frame is closed, protrudes above the frame roughly parallel to said groove and is designed to, in the closing phase, mesh with a recess (40) in the upper piece of the casement and be pressed against its wall (49), turned away from the groove (25), in order to partly form a burglary protection and partly provide an extra sealing effect for this part of the frame against the corresponding casement part. The fastening end (26) of the swinging arm (22) of the sliding armature is by a bending parallel-displaced in relation to the main part (23) of the arm, which allows a swinging of mainly only said main part with its thickness in the respective gap (51) between the casement and the frame.

Turbulent cooling air flows (58) in the hollows (36, 38) behind respective reflectors (24) pass from inlet openings (54) via laterally offset channels (46) in the support legs (18) to outlet channels (57) project in the cooling air, via openings (50), in form of jet or pilot flows (68) which, as a result of an ejector effect, accelerate and amplify the cooling air flows (52).

A die casting method and device, a stationary lower machine table (5) being provided with a stationary lower mold part (24), which cooperates with a vertically movable upper mold part (22), mounted on an upper machine table (10), displaceable by means of hydraulic cylinders (7). The upper machine table (10) and the upper mold part are provided with a filling chamber (20), designed to receive a measured amount of a liquid metal, which is to be pressed into the mold by means of an upper piston (18). A lower piston (43) is moved into such an elevation position, during said metal filling, that the upper piston (18), during its pressing movement, contacts the surface of said amount of metal, mainly without any air-entrapment or with an entrapment of a minor required amount of air. When the upper piston has moved into this contact position, the upper piston and the lower piston are designed to be displaced jointly downwards, until the lower piston has moved into a casting position in the lower mold part, whereupon the upper piston is to be displaced further downwards, complete the casting operation and continue to exert its pressure, until the metal has solidified. The cylinder casing (38) of the lower piston is rigidly connected to a mechanism (29-37), designed to eject the castings produced.
