Alternatively, the processing unit is configured to determine distances between at least three first distance sensors provided at the radiation generation unit (2) and at least three second distance sensors (13a, 13b, 13c) provided at the detection unit (6) based on signals emitted by the at least three first distance sensors and to determine an orientation of the radiation generation unit (2) and detection (6) unit relative to each other based on the distances between the at least three first distance sensors and the at least three second distance sensors (13a, 13b, 13c). The processing unit is further configured to determine a distance between the radiation generation unit (2) and the detection unit (6) based on the determined distances between the at least one first distance sensor (12a) and the at least three second distance sensors (13a, 13b, 13c) and on the determined orientation of the radiation generation unit (2) and the detection unit (6) relative to each other.
