摘要： A trolley includes driven wheels 8 and castor wheels 6a,6b,6c and 6d. The driven wheels 8 may be moved to a position clear of the ground or to a position in which they contact the ground with the adjacent castor wheels 6c and 6d being raised off the ground. Movement between these two positions is effected by pivoting a sub-frame 16 to which the driven wheels 8 and the castor wheels 6c and 6d are connected. During this movement the region of the trolley above the driven wheel is first lowered and then raised slightly such that the end elevation of the support for a patient remains the same.

摘要： A stretcher comprises an undercarriage (10) with four wheels (12) depending from the undercarriage (10). Each wheel (12) is pivotable on a vertical axis. A collapsible brace assembly (30) is provided between stretcher top (20) and the undercarriage (10). An end section (40) of the stretcher top (20) is releasable and pivotally movable from the plane of the stretcher top (20) so as to shorten the length of the stretcher without affecting its mobility. It can be mounted transversely in an ambulance.

That weight is transferred to pistons 20 to urge those pistons 20 down into liquid containers 16 to increase the pressure. The increased pressure from the action of the pistons is passed through to a control and display device 24 to give an indication of the weight of the patient which may comprise an alarm if a predetermined weight is exceeded.
