These can be moved towards or away from the patient support to accommodate patients of greater width than average. The stretcher also includes a leg support that can be moved to a shock position by a hydraulic cylinder 152 connected to the lower end of the u-shaped frame 150 at one end and at the other to the leg part of the patients support.

    摘要： A collapsed stretcher (30) is moved on to an ambulance floor. A restriction loop 20 directly secured to the front of the upper frame 29 passes beneath guide rails 15 as the stretcher is being loaded into the ambulance to correctly align the front of the stretcher and, when fully loaded, to directly retain the front of the upper frame against sideways movement and upwards movement. When fully loaded, fixed rearwardly facing catches 52 partly surround a bar 31 secured to the upper frame 29 with movable catches 53 also partially surrounding the bar 31 to retain the rear of the upper frame against upwards or downwards movement, sideways movement and fore and aft movement.

That weight is transferred to pistons 20 to urge those pistons 20 down into liquid containers 16 to increase the pressure. The increased pressure from the action of the pistons is passed through to a control and display device 24 to give an indication of the weight of the patient which may comprise an alarm if a predetermined weight is exceeded.

    摘要： A trolley 10 can be moved between a raised position and a lowered position. The trolley is usually in the lowered position when it is put into an ambulance. A magnet 252 is secured to one connecting leg of the trolley and a counter 258 is connected to the top frame 16 of the trolley. When the trolley is moved to a lower position the magnet 252 comes in close proximity to the counter 258 and a count is recorded. The recorded count gives an indication of the number of times that the trolley has been raised and lowered.

    摘要： A trailing wheel assembly is moved such that its wheels 164 come into contact with the ground prior to loading the stretcher into an ambulance. Forward loading wheels 50 support the front of the stretcher on the ambulance floor 160. The undercarriage 12 is then raised and the stretcher is moved into the ambulance by the operator pushing, without the operator having to support any part of the stretcher. Just before the stretcher is fully home, the trailing wheel assembly 162 is moved into a storage position by pivoting the struts 166 and then pushing the struts into the rear of the stretcher to conceal the trailing wheel section between opposed side members of the upper frame of the stretcher.
