摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member (1); a charging member (2), contactable to said image bearing member, for being supplied with a voltage to charge said image bearing member; developing means (6) for forming a toner image by developing with toner an electrostatic image formed on said image bearing member, said developing means being capable of cleaning said image bearing member to remove residual toner; transferring means (3) for transfering the toner image onto a transfer material (8); wherein when said apparatus stops during image forming operation, the voltage applied to said charging member is a superimposed voltage of an AC voltage and a DC voltage after reactuation of said apparatus and is a DC voltage without the AC voltage thereafter. The charging member (2) is provided with a magnetic brush of magnetic particles contactable to said image bearing member (1).

摘要： The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus in which each of first and second image forming means is in contact with surfaces of first and second image bearing members from which no after-transfer residual toner is removed, and includes a rotating charging member contacting first and second image bearing members, and a developing unit for developing an electrostatic image on the image bearing member and rotation controlling means rotates the second image bearing member and the charging member of the aid second image forming means during image formation only with the first image forming means.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member; charging means including magnetic particles contactable to the image bearing member for charging the image bearing member; developing means for developing, with a developer, an electrostatic image formed on the image bearing member using charging operation of the charging means, wherein the developing means is capable of collecting residual toner from the image bearing member, and the developer contains non-magnetic toner and magnetic carrier; detecting means for detecting a magnetic permeability of the developer in the developing device; notification means for notifying that output change rate of the detecting means is not less than a predetermined value.
