摘要: An electron gun for producing and directing at least one electron beam along a beam path comprises a beam forming section (6, 9, 11, 12) and a main lens section for focusing the electron beam. The main lens section includes first and second electrodes (13,14) arranged along the beam path and each having an aperture through which the electron beam is passed, and an auxiliary electrode (16) located between the first and second electrodes (13, 14) and having an aperture through which the electron beam is passed. The aperture of the auxiliary electrode (16) is wider than those of the first and second electrodes (13, 14). Different voltages are applied to the first and second electrodes (13, 14), and the auxiliary voltage between the voltages is applied to the auxiliary electrode (16). An electrostatic field formed between the first and second electrodes and under the influence of the auxiliary voltage is corrected by a correcting electrode (113, 114)

摘要: In an electron gun assembly for a cathode ray tube, the center and side electron beams (3A, 3B, 3C) emitted from cathodes (9A, 9B, 9C) are incident on a main electric lens (21). The center and side electron beams (3A, 3B, 3C) are focused, respectively. The side beams (3A, 3C) are over-converged and directed to an over-converged point by the main electric lens (21). The side beams (3A, 3C) emerged from the main electric lens (21) are deflected and corrected by a divergent lens (23) so that the center and side beams are converged on a proper converged point between the screen (30) and the over-converged point (P).

摘要: In a color cathode ray tube, a vaccum envelope (1) is provided with a plurality of necks (5-1, ...5-12) and a plurality of funnels (4-1,...4-12) for coupling the respective neck (5-1; ...5-12) to a single panel (3). A plurality of electron gun assemblies (6-1;...6-12) are received in the neck (5-1; ...5-12), respectively and a plurality of deflection yokes (7-1;...7-12) are mounted around the funnels (4-1; ...4-12), respectively. A screen (2) is formed on the inner surface of the faceplate (3-1) of the panel (3) and is defined by a plurality of continuous segment regions (16-1; ...16-12) each of which is scanned with electron beams from the corresponding electron gun assembly (6-1; ...6-12) and deflected by corresponding deflection yoke (7-1; ...7-12). A shadow mask (8) is received in the panel (3) and is faced to the screen (2). The shadow mask (8) has a plurality of effective row and clumn regions (18-1; ...18-12) corresponding to the segment regions (16-1; ...16-12) and a noneffective region (7A, 7B) for surrounding and partitioning the respective segment regions (16-1;...16-12).

摘要: In a color cathode ray tube, single electron beam (15) is emitted from a cathode (22) of an electron gun (6) and is electrostatically deflected by electrodes (26A, 26B) in a predetermined cycle so that the electron beam (15, 16, 12) is deflected at three stages and three apparent electron beams (15, 16, 17) are directed in different directions. The three apparent electron beams (15, 16, 17) are deflected by a supplement coil (14), thereby correcting the convergence. The three electron beams (15, 16, 17) are deflected by main deflection coils of yoke (7), passes through an aperture of a shadow mask (8) and are landed on a phosphour stripes (10) of a screen (2) formed on a face plate.

The aperture (36, 46) of the auxiliary electrode (16) is greater then each of the apertures (33a, 34b, 34a, 44b) of the first and second electrodes (13,14). Different voltages are applied to the first and second electrodes (13, 14), and the auxiliary electrode (16) Is supplied with a middle voltage intermediate between the two voltages applied to the first and second electrodes (13, 14).

摘要: A method of making a mask structure for a mask-focusing colour picture tube is described. A plurality of apertured flat masks are aligned and stacked. The stacked flat masks are contacted by force to hold them together while they are welded together. The force is removed and the welded flat masks are pressed into a predetermined curved shape at the same time. Next, the welded portions are cut off to separate the masks. The force is conveniently a magnetic force.
