摘要： An electrostatic copying apparatus of the type including a support frame (6) having a front support wall (76) and a rear support wall (78) located with a predetermined space therebetween in the front and rear direction, said support frame (6) being mounted on a housing defining the apparatus so that it is slidable in the front and rear direction between its operating position within the housing and its pull-out position forwardly of the housing, and mounted on said support frame, a rotating drum (10) having a photosensitive member disposed on its peripheral surface and a developing device (14) for developing a latent electrostatic image formed on the photosensitive member. Each of the rear surface of the front support wall and the front surface of the rear support wall in the support frame has a semicircular receiving portion (144, 146) having an open top, and each end of the rotating drum has mounted thereon a shaft bearing member (106, 108) having a circular peripheral surface.

摘要： An optical device in a variable magnification electrostatic copying apparatus. The optical device comprises a first reflecting mirror assembly mounted for reciprocal movement, a second reflecting mirror assembly mounted for reciprocal movement substantially parallel to the reciprocating direction of the first reflecting mirror assembly, and a speed-reduction interlocking mechanism for moving the second reflecting mirror assembly at a speed one-second of the moving speed of the first reflecting mirror assembly according to the movement of the first reflecting mirror assembly. The optical device further includes a magnification setting mechanism for changing the relative position of the second reflecting mirror assembly to the first reflecting mirror assembly according to a magnification of copying. The magnification setting mechanism comprises a setting cam having a plurality of acting portions corresponding to a plurality of magnification values and a setting member adapted to be held by the setting cam at any one of a plurality of setting positions corresponding to the plurality of magnification values. The changing of the position of the setting member causes a change in the relative position of the second reflecting mirror assembly to the first reflecting mirror assembly.

摘要： @ A unit-type copying machine comprising an upper unit having an optical system for exposing a document to light by scanning, and a lower unit provided independently of the upper unit and having a photoconductive drum to be exposed to an image of the document projected thereon from the optical system. The upper and lower units are provided with connecting portions for detachably connecting the two units together and positioning portions for positioning the optical path of projection of the document image from the optical system in coincidence with an exposure station for the drum. The upper or lower unit is usable with selected one of different types of lower units or of different types of upper units in a suitable combination.

摘要： A cleaning device in an electrostatic copying apparatus for removing residual toner particles from the surface of a photosensitive member adapted to move through an endless conveying passage, which comprises a blade holding mechanism (52, 54) mounted pivotally around an axis (48) extending substantially parallel to the surface of the photosensitive member (30) and substantially perpendicular to the moving direction of the photosensitive member and a cleaning blade (56) mounted on the blade holding mechanism. This cleaning device (56) further includes a first spring means (70) for elastically biasing the blade holding mechanism to a non-operating position at which the cleaning blade (56) moves away from the surface of the photosensitive member (30) and a specially improved operating mechanism for selectively positioning the blade holding mechanism against the elastic biasing action of the first spring means (70) at an operating position at which the cleaning blade (56) is pressed on the surface of the photosensitive member (30).

摘要： An optical device in a variable magnification electrostatic copying apparatus.
