    摘要: A thermal energy is converted into a mechanical energy by a thermal converter (21) including a phase change material whose phase changes between solid and liquid by a temperature change, so that good thermal conductivity can be secured within a normal operating temperature range since the phase change material of the thermal converter (21) does not become a gas and sufficient mechanical energy can be obtained in decreasing an ambient temperature, thereby enhancing conversion efficiency thereof. Further, since an inside of a case (22) is not required to be at a high pressure, the case (22) can be easily manufactured and a compressing means such as a strong spring is not required, thus reducing a size of whole device (1).

    摘要: An electronically controlled mechanical timepiece capable of increasing the brake torque of a generator as well as reducing a cost while keeping generated power to at least a prescribed level is provided.
    The electronically controlled mechanical timepiece includes a generator 20 for converting mechanical energy transmitted from a mainspring la through a train wheel to electric energy, hands coupled with the train wheel and rotation control means 50 driven by the converted electric energy for controlling the rotational cycle of the generator 20. A switch capable of short circuiting both the ends of the generator 20 is provided and the generator 20 is chopper controlled by intermittently operating the switch by the rotation control means 50. Since the generator 20 is chopper controlled, brake torque can be improved as well as a cost can be reduced while keeping a generated voltage to at least a prescribed level.

    摘要: An electronic timepiece comprises an oscillator circuit (1) for generating an oscillating signal having a predetermined frequency, and a frequency divider circuit (2) responsive to the oscillating signal for supplying an output for intermittently driving a movable actuator (6). Storage means (7) are provided for storing kinetic energy of the actuator, together with means (10) for controlling release of the stored energy for smoothly driving a time keeping hand (9). Setting means (11) stop the time keeping hand during correction of the time displayed by the timepiece. The frequency divider circuit is arranged such that at least a portion thereof is held during time correction in the state prevailing immediately prior to time correction. This may be achieved by employing state holding means (3; 77; 75) for holding the at least a portion of the frequency divider circuit in said state during time correction. Alternatively, the frequency divider circuit may be arranged such that the at least a portion thereof is set in said state during time correction.
