摘要： A calibration card (10) and method of using the card (10) to calibrate an analytical instrument capable of reading a photoluminescent oxygen probe. The card (10) includes at least (a) a first mass of an oxygen sensitive photoluminescent dye (51) retained within a hermetically sealed space so as to isolate the dye (51) from environmental oxygen, and in fluid communication with an activated metal-air battery (70) whereby any oxygen permeating into the hermetically sealed space is quickly consumed by the battery (70), and (b) a second mass of an oxygen sensitive photoluminescent dye (52) in fluid communication with the environment whereby the second mass of photoluminescent dye (52) is exposed to an environmental concentration of oxygen.

摘要： An instrument (10) for detecting leaks in a hermetically sealed package (100). The instrument (10) includes (i) a hollow needle (20), (ii) a mass flow rate sensor (70) in sealed fluid communication with the lumen defined by the hollow needle (20), and (iii) a vacuum pump (60). The vacuum pump (60) is in fluid communication with the lumen defined by the needle (20) for evacuating gas (102) from the hermetically sealed package (100), and in fluid communication with the mass flow rate sensor (70) for directing mass flow from the evacuated package (100) into operable contact with the mass flow rate sensor (70) so as to permit sensing of any continuing mass flow from the evacuated package (100). The instrument (10) may further include an oxygen sensor (40) in sealed fluid communication with the lumen defined by the hollow needle (20) for analyzing the oxygen concentration of the gas (102) within the hermetically sealed package (100).

摘要： A system and method for providing a destination point with a gas having a selectable known humidity. A gas having an initial relative humidity is alternately directed in accordance with a duty cycle along a wet path effective for humidifying the gas to provide a wet gas, and a dry path effective for either maintaining the initial relative humidity of the gas or dehumidifying the gas to provide a dry gas. The wet and dry gas is blended to produce a blended gas having a selected relative humidity based upon the selected duty cycle.
