Disclosed is a method for producing biodiesel, the method including generating fatty acid alkyl esters and glycerol by a transesterification reaction of oil and an aliphatic alcohol in a presence of a refractory porous material. The method may have a high reaction rate,and a high FAME conversion, and the method may be performed by a continuous process. Further, according to the method, high-purity fatty acid alkyl esters and glycerol may be produced regardless of free fatty acids (FFAs). Further, since a catalyst is not used in the method, the overall process time and cost may be saved, and the method is environmetally friendly.

The apparatus for assembling molten slag and recovering sensible heat includes: a rotary circular plate which rotates while being cooled by cooling water, and which cools the molten slag dropping onto the top surface thereof so as to convert the molten slag into particle slag and scatter the particle slag; a rotating drum part which rotates while being cooled by the cooling water, which is spaced apart from the side surface of the rotary circular plate, and which collides with the particle slag scattered by the rotary circular part so as to cool the colliding particle slag, thereby moving the cooled particle slag; an inclination-inducing part disposed at a downward incline below the rotation drum part, the inclination-inducing part inducing the colliding particle slag to drop downward; and a sensible-heat recovery casing part connected to the lower portion of the inclination-inducing part to enable the exchange of heat between a cooling medium and the dropping particle slag, the sensible-heat recovery casing part discharging the particle slag and the cooling medium having undergone heat exchange to the outside.

An Electrolysis-type apparatus for treating ballast water using NaOCl and a method thereof is provided. The apparatus includes: a ballast tank; an electrolyzer; a first circulation pump; a second circulation pump; and a controller. The ballast tank is installed in a ship to store seawater. The electrolyzer is connected with the ballast tank and electrolyzes the seawater. The circulation pumps are installed to allow the ballast water to flow into the electrolyzer and to discharge the electrolyzed water containing NaOCl to the ballast tank. The controller supplies power to the electrolyzer so as to control a NaOC1 density and controls the circulation pumps. The apparatus and the method safely treat the seawater. Thus, environment pollution and ecosystem destruction can be minimized.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for manufacturing molten irons. The method for manufacturing molten irons includes providing a mixture containing iron by drying and mixing iron ores and additives; passing the mixture containing iron through one or more successively-connected fluidized beds to convert the mixture into a reducing material that is reduced and calcined; forming a coal packed bed, which is a heat source in which the reducing material has been melted; charging the reducing material to the coal packed bed and supplying reducing gas exhausted from the coal packed bed to the fluidized bed. In the providing a mixture containing iron, exhaust gas exhausted from the fluidized bed is branched to dry at least one of the iron ores and the additives. The apparatus for manufacturing molten irons uses this method for manufacturing molten irons. Through the use of the present invention, at least one of iron ores and additives is dried and conveyed to thereby enhance energy efficiency and minimize the amount of required equipment.

A method for decreasing the elutriation loss of fine iron ore in a circulating fluidized bed type reducing operation is disclosed. The method includes charging lime stone (CaCO3) or dolomite (CaCO3, MgCO3) in an amount of 3-6 vol% together with the fine iron ore into a fluidized bed type furnace. In another embodiment, the method includes the addition of a sludge in an amount of 0.2-5.0 wt% to the fine iron ore and mixing them thus coating the fine iron ore particles; drying the coated particles at a temperature of 105-800 DEG C for 1-24 hours and then charging the coated fine iron ore into a fluidized bed type furnace.
