A pneumatic extraction head for underwater debris, in particular sand and gravel, comprises a housing (16), a base plate (21) located at the bottom of the housing and forming an inlet opening for the debris, and a flange plate (22) located at the top of the housing for connection with an extraction pipe and a compressed air duct. A joint extending inside the housing between the base plate and the flange plate and surrounding the inlet opening for the debris serves to form an annular space for compressed air between the inner wall of the housing and the outer wall of the joint. Several mutually-spaced outlet openings for the compressed air in the compressed air space are provided in the base plate around the debris inlet opening. These outlet openings are provided with spring-loaded nonreturn valves.

A float for a steel pipe surface dredging line formed of snugly fitting inner and outer sleeves (1,2) each of which are composed of two sleeve parts (3, 4) and (5, 6) respectively. The construction as described, may be readily dismantled in use. This is advantageous and cost saving, in that it means for example that the whole unit does not have to be discarded when localised damage occurs as in the prior art, rather only that particular part damaged i.e. one of the outer sleeve parts, has to be replaced. Moreover since the inner sleeve (2) may constitute 60% of the buoyancy required, loss of buoyancy due to outer sleeve damage does not render the whole unit ineffective as is possible with single shelled units known in the prior art. The sleeves (1,2) which are hollow, may be either foam filled, of strengthened with internal struts (101). With this latter construction a port P in the outer sleeve 2 may be provided so that the sleeve can be selectively filled with water, for example, so varying the buoyancy on site.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Vorrichtung zur Abförderung von Schüttgut in einem Förderrohr mittels eines von einer Druckquelle angelieferten Druckmediums. Um bei einer solchen Vorrichtung zu erreichen, daß Verschleiß und Leistung der Druckquelle (Pumpe) gegenüber dem bekannten Stand der Technik wesentlich abgesenkt werden können, zeichnet sich die Vorrichtung durch folgende Merkmale aus:
a) ein Sammelbehälter für das zu fördernde Schüttgut; b) ein dem Sammelbehälter nachgeschalteter, mit dem Förderrohr verbundener Einspeisbehälter; c) ein zwischen Sammel - und Einspeisbehälter angeordnetes Absperrventil; d) eine in den Einspeisbehälter mündende, mit einer Druckquelle verbundene Druckleitung; e) ein Absperrventil in der Druckleitung zwischen Druckquelle und Einspeisbehälter.
