A method and an apparatus for taking slurry samples from a continuous gravity process flow (PF). The sampling is carried out in two stages by first and second sampling units (1, 2). The primary sample flow (PSF) and the secondary sample flow (SSF) are arranged as pressureless open-channel type flows, so that the flow rate of the secondary sample flow (SSF) to be led for analysis is approximately proportional to an instantaneous flow rate of the process flow (PF). In the apparatus, the first sampling unit (1) and the second sampling unit (2) comprise venting means (23, 24) adjacent the upper ends (25, 26) of their respective first and second side walls (7, 8; 13; 14) to allow equalizing of the atmospheric pressure prevailing inside and outside the first and second sampling units above free liquid levels (27, 28) of the primary and secondary slurry flows (PSF, SSF) along the entire lengths of the sampling units to form pressure—less open-channel type flow paths for the primary and secondary sample flows (PSF, SSF).

The invention relates to a device (1) for sampling, comprising a housing (2) having a housing chamber (8) which has two connection openings (10) for connecting one line portion in each case. The device (1) includes a withdrawal element (13) which is movable in the housing chamber (8). The withdrawal element is formed, at least in portions, in a profile-like manner, and bounds a hollow sampling region (19), extending along a profile longitudinal direction course (16), at the periphery of the sampling region, while leaving an entry opening (21) which extends along an opening longitudinal direction course (20). Guide means are provided by means of which a defined movement pattern of the withdrawal element (13) in the housing chamber (8) is predetermined, via which movement pattern at least one of the two opening cross-sections (32) in a projection view perpendicular thereto may be traversed over the entire area by means of the entry opening (21). The invention proposes that as a result of the movement pattern specified by the guide means, an orientation of the withdrawal element (13) in an observation plane which moves with the withdrawal element relative to a geometric intersection line of the observation plane with a nonmoving geometric reference plane which extends perpendicular to the observation plane and to at least one opening cross-section (32), remains the same when the withdrawal element (13) is moved.

Es wird aus einem Produkthauptstrom eine Teilprobe gezogen und aus dieser Teilprobe eine zu analysierende Analysenprobe und ein Rest durch Probenteilung gewonnen. Zur Schaffung eines Verfahrens und einer Vorrichtung zur zeitlich und örtlich repräsentativen Probenahme und Probenteilung auf einen für eine anschließende on-line-Probenanalyse geeigneten kleinen Analysenprobenstrom sieht die Erfindung vor, daß Probenahme und Probenteilung in-line unmittelbar aufeinanderfolgend kontinuierlich durchgeführt werden und mit der Probenahme ein repräsentativer Teilprobenstrom von bis zu 1/100 des Produkthauptstroms mit einem am Eingang einer Entnahmeleitung (30) angeordneten drehantreibbaren Entnahmekopf (12) gezogen wird, dessen Entnahmeöffnung (10) wenigstens ein Kreissektor ist, der mit seiner Spitze um die Mittelachse der Produktstrom-Transportleitung drehbar ist. Der Teilprobenstrom wird unmittelbar anschließend mit einem Probenteiler (60) um bis zu drei Zehnerpotenzen lkontinuierlich geteilt. Die bei der Probenteilung erzeugten Einzelproben werden einzeln oder stichprobenweise mit einem Konzentrator (71) zusammengefaßt derart abgeleitet, daß die anschließende Analyse ohne nennenswert zeitverzögernde Zwischenspeicherung unmittelbar on-line durchführbar ist. Verschiedene Ausgestaltungen des Probenehmers (9) und des Probenteilers (60) sind erläutert.
