    摘要: The present invention enables continuous measurement of engine exhaust gas while substantially eliminating the user's need to move a test chamber in which an engine is installed and replace a filter. According to the present invention, there are provided a first filter flow path 41 provided with a first filter 5, a second filter flow path 42 provided with a second filter 7, an exhaust gas analyzing part 3 for analyzing exhaust gas passing through the first filter 5 or the second filter 7, a flow path switching mechanism 9 for switching between the first filter flow path 41 and the second filter flow path 42, and a pulse purge mechanisms 10 for supplying purge gas to the filters 5, 7 in the filter flow paths 41, 42 in a pulsed manner, and in the case where a pressure difference between an upstream side and a downstream side of the filter provided in one filter flow path in which the exhaust gas flows becomes equal to or larger than a predetermined value, the one filter flow path is switched to the other filter flow path, and purge gas is supplied to the filter provided in the one filter flow path in the pulsed manner.

    摘要: The system and method for testing a filter containment system. A containment system may include a filter housing with a diverging transition section mounted upstream and a converging transition section mounted downstream. An upstream test section can be arranged upstream of the diverging transition section. During a test of the filter, and aerosol can be dispersed substantially evenly across a cross-sectional area of the upstream test section. The downstream test section can be arranged downstream of the converging transition section. The downstream test section may optionally include a mixer that disturbs the airflow. The downstream test section can also include a sampling array, downstream of the mixer that simultaneously samples the airflow substantially evenly across the cross-sectional area of the downstream test section for the presence of aerosol.

    摘要: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for treating and analyzing a gas stream to determine the ammonia concentration. A gas stream is continuously monitored to determine the ammonia concentration by extracting gas samples from one or more locations and sending it to a tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy instrument for analysis. By proper placement of sampling probes within a duct, depending on the particular flow patterns that have been determined by suitable modeling, e.g., computational fluid dynamics or cold flow modeling, the valves can be operated manually or by a controller to take samples at predetermined locations within the duct. This will enable taking samples from particular locations, samples representative of the entire cross section, or samples that are an average of a particular cross section. It will be possible by judicious placement of the probes and operation of the valves to map the concentrations of ammonia at a plurality of load settings and will permit continuous control.
