The process unit includes an image bearing member, process devices actable on the image bearing member a casing for containing the image bearing member and process devices, the casing being provided with an aperture for allowing the image bearing member to be exposed to light, and a cover movable between a closing position wherein the cover closes the aperture and a retracted position wherein the cover is retracted from the closing position, in response to mounting of the unit into, and demounting of the unit from the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus may have a device for moving the cover in response to the mounting or demounting of the unit.

摘要： In a part connecting member made from synthetic resin, at least two molded pieces (51,52) obtained by the injection molding of plastic are provisionally connected by being adjacently arranged or abut against each other. The provisionally connected body is set in a die different from the dies used for the formation of each molded piece. Then, in a state such that each molded piece and the die are positioned, the molded pieces are joined by the injection of a molten resin material for joining into a gap (154a) formed between the opposed surfaces of the molded pieces that are adjacently arranged or abut against each other. An injection channel (200) of the molten resin up to the gap is formed by using one of the molded pieces forming the gap of the opposed surfaces that are adjacently arranged or abut against each other.

摘要： A toner cartridge (1) comprises a single molded element, molded of polystyrene, which is heat sensitive. The molded element forms front handles (3a, 3b) and a cleaner chamber (27) mounts a photoconductor drum (49). A toner hopper (61) is located generally under the handles. A developer roller (43) receives toner from the hopper and applies it to the photoconductor drum. A lower shutter (7) of polycarbonate, which is heat resistant, is mounted on actuating links (13a, 13b). When the cartridge is installed in the printer the actuating links are moved to rotate the shutter to a position covering the lower surface of the cleaner chamber, where it serves as an effective heat shield protecting the cleaner from fixing heat of the printer.

摘要： A typical process cartridge according to the present invention comprises an image bearing member (9), developing bias contacts (18b) for applying developing bias to a developing means arranged at the same side regarding a longitudinal direction of said image bearing member and at one of sides of said image bearing member, earthing contacts (18a) for earthing said image bearing member arranged at the other side of said image bearing member, and charging bias contacts for applying charging bias to a charger means. With such construction it is possible to provide a process cartridge and an image forming system capable of removably mounting such process cartridge, which can improve the connection between the contacts and can be made small-sized.
