Three-dimensional (3D) video is provided to a legacy two-dimensional (2D) video messenger application. A request for video content from a single video camera is received at a camera interface module from the 2D video messenger application. The request for video content from the single video camera is forwarded to a video processing offload module. A first video camera and a second video camera are controlled. Merged 3D video content from the video processing offload module is received. The merged 3D video content is sent to the 2D video messenger application in response to receipt of the merged 3D video content from the video processing offload module. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.

Disclosed are a method, a device and a system for controlling a cable television system. The method includes that: an intelligent mobile terminal detects whether the intelligent mobile terminal is connected to a home wireless network, and when it is detected that the intelligent mobile terminal is connected to the home wireless network, transmits a set-top box turn-on signal to a set-top box through the home wireless network; the set-top box executes a turn-on operation according to the received set-top box turn-on signal and transmits a television turn-on signal to a television. According to the present invention, after a user of the intelligent mobile terminal gets home, the intelligent mobile terminal carried by the user automatically turns on the set-top box and the television, and the user does not need to use a remote controller of the set-top box and a remote controller of the television to turn on the set-top box and the television respectively. Thereby the inconvenience caused by manually turning on the set-top box and the television can be avoided.

A data transmission system has a sending apparatus that sends streaming data, and a receiving apparatus (114) that receives the streaming data and transmits a request of switch of the streaming data to the sending apparatus, in which the sending apparatus switches the streaming data in response to the received request. The receiving apparatus (114) includes a receiving section (252b), a storage section (253) that stores the streaming data temporarily and transfers it, an operation-detecting section (115) that detects whether a user operates the request, and a control section (251) that controls a transfer rate of the streaming data stored in the storage section (253) to fast-forward the streaming data when the operation-detecting section (115) detects that the user operates the request of switch of the streaming data. The sending apparatus includes an information-adding section that adds to the streaming data additional information on the user's operation when receiving a notice of user's operation, and a sending section that sends the additional-information-added streaming data.

An interactive media guidance system and a method for generating media control information that enable media content delivery and control by a media content user via a user equipment device capable of interfacing with a media content source using a backchannel network is disclosed. The method comprises: determining a media provider, based on a user-generated message received from a communications device; determining a command format, of a plurality of command formats, that is usable by the determined media provider; converting the user-generated message into the determined command format; generating the media control information including the converted user-generated message, wherein the media control information is for use by the determined media provider to control delivery of media from the media provider to a media device.

The present technology relates to a transmitting device, a transmitting method, a receiving device, a receiving method, a program, and a broadcasting system that can realize service of data broadcasting content capable of being in conjunction with show, CM, etc. A controller supplies metadata in which trigger information relating to control of an application program to be executed in conjunction with content in a receiving device is stored, and size information for burying the metadata in a user data area of an encoded audio stream. An audio encoder generates the encoded audio stream in which the metadata storing the trigger information is buried in the user data area based on the size information. A transmitter transmits the generated encoded audio stream to the receiving device. The present disclosure can be applied to the case of realizing data broadcasting in the United States and so forth for example.
