The present invention relates to a display device comprising a cathode ray index tube (1) having a neck portion (1') and a screen portion (1). The display device comprises an electron gun assembly (3) for generating a plurality of electron beams (3R,3G,3B), positioned in the neck portion (1') of the cathode ray index tube (1), a deflection unit (5), placed around the neck portion (1') of the cathode ray index tube (1), for deflecting said plurality of electron beams (3R,3G,3B), and a convergence unit (6) for converging said plurality of electron beams (3R,3G,3B). The deflection unit (5) is placed at an axial distance from said electron gun assembly (3), closer to said screen portion (1'). The convergence unit (6) is placed in close proximity to the deflection unit (5). The invention also relates to a deflection system for use in a cathode ray index tube as described above.

A cathode ray tube device includes: a cathode ray tube with an envelope including a panel having a phosphor screen on its inner face and a funnel having a neck portion including an electron gun; and a deflection unit disposed around an outer face of the funnel. An inductance-adjusting element is provided therein for reducing an inductance at a frequency in an audio frequency band of at least one of a plurality of coils included in the deflection unit, and thereby noise is reduced that is generated by the at least one of the plurality of coils whose inductance is thus reduced.

Die erfindung betrifft somit eine Farbbildröhre und ein Ablenksystem für eine Farbildröhre mit einem rechteckigen Leuchtschirm und einem In-Line-Elektronenstrahl-Erzeugungssystem. Ein In-Line-Elektronenstrahl-Erzeugungssystem erzeugt mehrere im wesentlichen in einer gemeinsamen Ebene verlaufende Elektronenstrahlen, die auf den Leuchtschirm gerichtet sind. Um eine Ost-West-Innenkissen-Verzeichnung zu korrigieren, werden auf der Farbbildröhre bzw. im Ablenksystem einer Farbbildröhre in einer ersten Ebene Konvergenzmagnete (8) und in einer zweiten, davon verschiedenen Ebene Geometriemagnete (10) angeordnet. Die Ebene der Konvergenz- und Geometriemagnete sind jeweils senkrecht zur Richtung der Elektronenstrahlen ausgerichtet. Die vorliegende Erfindung ermöglicht damit eine Farbbildröhre, bei der eine herkömmliche Ost-west-Innenkissenverzeichnung ohne eine Schaltung zur zusätzlichen Modulation des horizontalen Ablenkstroms korrigierbar und die trotz verbesserter Abbildungseigenschaften günstig herstellbar ist.

A color picture tube device in which a lens is generated in an area through which a plurality of electron beams pass, so as to be positioned, in a tube axis direction, between a phosphor screen and an end of a core nearest the electron gun. The lens has a horizontal focusing effect that focuses each of the electron beams in the horizontal scanning direction. Furthermore, an interval between at least the two outermost of the plurality of electron beams is adjusted, so that the interval at a time of the electron beams entering the lens widens as the degree of horizontal deflection by a horizontal deflection coil increases.

A color picture tube device has a funnel glass, a pair of horizontal deflection coils, an insulating frame, and a pair of vertical deflection coils. The pair of horizontal deflection coils are opposed to each other in a vertical direction around the outer surface of the funnel glass, and each have a window at the center. The insulating frame covers the horizontal deflection coils, resembles in shape a part of the funnel glass where the horizontal deflection coils are provided, and has openings in areas corresponding to windows of the horizontal deflection coils. The pair of vertical deflection coils are opposed to each other in a horizontal direction around the outer surface of the insulating frame, without overlapping the openings. In this color picture tube device, a pair of correction coils are provided so as to be each at least partially inserted in a different one of the openings.

In a cathode ray tube (10), an electron beam is directed towards a faceplate (20) having an electrode (22) biased at screen potential and is magnetically scanned across the faceplate (20) to impinge upon phosphors (23) thereon to produce light depicting an image. A six-pole coil (15) is disposed proximate the deflection yoke (16) and/or on the tube neck (14) to modify the focus of the red, green and blue electron beams to control focus. An electrode (46) between the tube neck (14) and the faceplate (20) is biased at or above screen potential to deflect electrons over a greater total angle than is obtained from the magnetic deflection.
