摘要: A mounting assembly for self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) comprises a back plate 20 having a plurality of apertures 6 formed therein, arranged in two columns which extend along opposing side edges of the plate. The apertures are able to receive and engage mounting straps 2 which can be interfaced with mounting straps of a carrying jacket so as to fasten, in use, the plate to the jacket. A tank securing means 10 (for example a strap with a quick release mechanism) is fastened to the plate 1 and, in use, is engageable with a supply tank, securely and releasably fastening the tank to the back plate. A valve retaining means 11 is also provided on the plate for releasably securing, in use, a valve of an air supply means (12, Fig 2) to the back plate for engagement with a supply tank. The plate may further include quick release fastening means 5 associated with each column of apertures for, in use, securing the top/bottom of a mounting strap (extending through the apertures) to the plate.

摘要: A carrying system is provided for use with breathing apparatus. The carrying system includes a backplate and a plurality of straps adapted to hold the backplate on the back of a user when the carrying system is worn. The backplate includes at least one plate of a plastics material. The at least one plate having a predetermined shape and the at least one plate being adapted to provide impact protection to a user during use by at least partially absorbing and/or dispersing impact forces, and to deform resiliency in response to external forces imposed by bending and/or twisting of a user during use and return substantially to its predetermined shape when not subjected to an external force.

摘要: An oxygen therapy apparatus for supply of oxygen to patients. The device comprises an inlet port (17) for receiving high pressure oxygen from a cylinder and an outlet port (1) for supplying oxygen to a patient, typically via a single tube cannula (not shown). Three valves control the supply of oxygen to the patient: a diaphragm valve (42) senses the pressure at the outlet (1) and, in particular senses whether the patient is inhaling or exhaling. A valve (36) controls the supply of oxygen to the patient via an inlet jet (25) which is selectably closed by a piston (20) incorporating a flexible seat (24). Movement of the piston (20) is in turn controlled by a pilot valve (37) in dependence on the state of the diaphragm valve (42). The device gives a pulsed output to the patient during inhalation, but shuts off during exhalation to economise on the use of oxygen.
