摘要: Disclosed is a fluid trap for use with, or comprising part of, a respiratory therapy system, and in particular comprising part of, or configured to be connected to, a breathing limb, such as an expiratory limb, of a respiratory therapy system. The fluid trap comprises a container configured to contain fluid received from an inlet; a closure, the closure and container being configured to be removeably mounted together to close the container; and a valve configured to be removeably mounted on at least one of the container and the closure, and configured to be in a closed condition which prevents fluid from flowing through the inlet when the closure is not mounted on the container, the valve being further configured to be in an open position which allows fluid from the inlet into the container when the closure is mounted on the container.

摘要: A control device for an electronic aerosol provision system is provided. The control device is configured to receive a replaceable component to form an electronic aerosol provision system. The control device includes a communication interface for performing communications external to the electronic aerosol provision system; a memory configured to hold a set of stored identifiers; and a control system. The control system is configured to: receive control information from a remote server via the communication interface; update the set of stored identifiers based on the control information received from the remote server; receive an identifier from a replaceable component received by the control device; make a comparison of the received identifier against the set of stored identifiers; and perform a control action for the electronic aerosol provision system dependent upon the result of said comparison.

摘要: Systems and methods can determine respiratory rates of a patient using a respiratory device by performing one or more frequency analyses of a signal from the gases flow. The signal from the gases flow can be one that varies with the patient's breathing. The system can include a non-sealed patient interface, such as a nasal cannula in a nasal high flow therapy, or any other patient interfaces. The respiratory system can also detect whether the patient has taken off the patient interface and/or whether the patient connected to the patient interface is talking or eating. Data of the patient's use of the respiratory system and the patient's respiratory rates can provide therapy compliance and long-term trend of use information and/or progress in the patient's respiratory functions and/or other physiological functions.

摘要: A humidifier (52) of a heated pass-over type comprises a heater plate (70), water reservoir (62), sensors (86), and a controller (88). The sensors generate signals for conveying humidifier operating status and ambient conditions. The controller is configured to: (i) predict a water mass within the water reservoir based on predetermined heat and water mass transfer functions of a given humidifier design, the sensor signals, and heater plate power; (ii) determine a length of time to evaporate all water of the predicted water mass; and (iii)(a) output a warning signal in response to predicted water mass being insufficient for a remainder of the treatment duration, or (iii)(b) adapt a power setting to change the evaporation rate of the current predicted water mass to ensure that it is sufficient to last for a remainder of the treatment duration and prevent the water reservoir from running dry.
