According to the inventive method, the discharge of the hydroformylation reaction is subsequently separated by distillation into the hydroformylation products and a solution containing rhodium, and said solution is redirected into the hydroformylation reaction, the rhodium concentration of the redirected solution amounting to between 20 and 150 mass ppm.

The invention relates to the production of alicyclic polycarboxylic acid ester mixtures by core hydrogenating the corresponding aromatic polycarboxylic acid esters on a catalyst that contains at least one metal selected from the triad consisting of iron, cobalt, nickel and contains at least one metal of subgroups II, III, IV, V and/or VI of the periodic table. The alicyclic polycarboxylic acid ester mixture has a trans isomer proportion greater than 10 mol %. The invention also relates to the use of alicyclic polycarboxylic acid ester mixtures and concerns mixtures consisting of plastics and of alicyclic polycarboxylic acid ester mixtures.
