According to the invention, the radiocommunications system is operated at least in certain radio ranges in the manner of a common frequency system with a single frequency (sf) for the simultaneous transmission of organisation information (oi) from base stations (B) to mobile stations (MS). This results in all of the receiving devices having the advantages of uniform access to a single frequency and in a high level of frequency efficiency since there is no need for frequency synchronisation when the organisation information is received from the transmission devices.

According to the inventive method for estimating channels in a telecommunication system, signals comprising a data part containing data symbols and a mid-amble containing known LM symbols are transmitted through a transmission channel. Channel coefficients relating to a channel impulse response are estimated on the receiving end. In order to estimate channel coefficients, the received mid-amble dependent signal is folded with estimation coefficients derived from the known mid-amble symbols by means of a Fourrier transformation. The Fourrier transformation is carried out on the basis of 2x≥2L. The invention can be used particularly advantageously in 3rd generation mobile radio telephone networks.

The invention relates to a method for transmitting data in a radio communications system. According to said method, a radio interface is sub-divided into time slots for transmitting bursts, the data being transmitted in data channels in a time slot. Said data channels are distinguishable by an individual spread code. A terminal burst consisting of data symbols and at least one midamble with known symbols is used for transmitting data in a data channel. At least one parameter relating to the traffic conditions for the radio interface and the ratio of the length of midamble and of a data part with data symbols is adjusted according to the traffic conditions. The inventive method is particularly suitable for use in 3rd generation TD/CDMA mobile radio networks.

In order to compatibly adapt the air interface in a wireless telecommunications system with a CDMA, FDMA and TDMA multiple access component, especially a 'JD-CDMA' telecommunications system with hybrid multiple access techniques, to a GSM-specific/DECT-specific (micro, macro and/or pico-cell specific) telecommunications system, the signaling information configured as a 'stealing flag' to distinguish user channels from signaling channels is arranged in a given time slot structure in such a way that an asymmetric distribution of time slot data with respect to a training data block (midamble) of the time slot structure occurs. The transmission duration of a data element that is contained several times in the time slot structure and that is configured as a 'chip' is measured in such a way that said transmission duration is a harmonic multiple of a reciprocal predetermined pulse frequency, i.e. a GSM/DECT-specific pulse frequency, ranging from 5 to 7.
