    摘要: Dual directional latch devices or connectors are described wherein a first connector component (12) and a second connector component (14) have a first latched position and a second latched position when moving in a first direction and wherein movement in a second direction is also possible when a restriction feature (26,40) is overcome. As described, opposing magnetic forces, pneumatic pressure, spring force, and a crushable force may be incorporated so that further movement in the second direction must overcome the restriction feature. The dual direction latch devices may be used with articles of manufacture such as with implantable medical devices, door panels, airplane panels, and drilling devices, to name a few.

    摘要: A multiple positioning assembly with integral switch contact includes a cylindrical housing along with a ball assembly including a ball portion received by the cylindrical assembly. The ball portion includes an electrically conductive surface and a neck extending therefrom. A plurality of spaced apart spring retainers are disposed within the cylindrical housing with electrically conductive coil spring contacts therein. Adjacent spring contacts complete an electrical circuit through the ball portion surface when in simultaneous contact therewith. A retainer (28) defines a spring cavity (30) between the retainer (28) and the release angle (22). A circular radial canted coil spring (32) is disposed in the cavity (30). A pin (34) has a tapered end (36) and a body diameter sized for sliding engagement with the bore (14) is provided which includes a circumferential groove (48) in the pin body (38) for receiving the spring (32) upon insertion of the pin (34) into the bore (14). The circumferential groove (48) includes a load angle (46) for rotating the spring (32) in an orientation in which the major spring axis (54) is parallel to the release angle (22) upon initial withdrawal of the pin (34) from the bore (14). The spring (32) is further compressed along a minor axis (56) and expands radially upon continued withdrawal of the pin (34) from the bore (14).
