摘要: Conventional optimization models for electric vehicle (EV) charging do not sufficiently account for battery wear. Accordingly, disclosed embodiments utilize a heuristic approach to penalize optimization solutions for deviations of electric vehicles or other flexible loads (e.g., microgrid batteries) from state-of-health (SoH) parameters. For example, the SoH parameters may encourage the optimization model to quickly bring and maintain states of charge for the batteries of the flexible loads within an ideal state-of-charge (SoC) range. This approach biases the optimization model towards a solution that reduces the occurrence of such deviations from SoH parameters, thereby extending the lifetime of the batteries.

摘要: One component of time domain protection in a power system is estimating the location of a fault. In an embodiment, a multi-objective problem is formulated that comprises a non-smoothness penalization function that drives the primary objective function for fault location estimation towards a solution that respects smoothness between the inputs and outputs of a machine-learning model. This technique improves the accuracy, blind zone, and speed of state-of-the-art techniques, in the context of time domain protection, as well as for other regression tasks. In an additional or alternative embodiment that is specific to time domain protection, the multi-objective problem may comprise a phasor-deviation penalization function that drives the primary objective function towards a solution that minimizes deviations in phasor values. The trained machine-learning model may be executed in a line protection system to determine whether or not to trip a circuit breaker of a power line.

At least one of the connection between the sensor element and the contact element and the connection between the sensor element and the measurement surface is a dry connection. The contact element is mechanically biased in order to prevent loosening of the at least one dry connection.
