A modular tiered rack assembly comprise at least two merchandise support racks (R1, R2, R3) suspended in a tiered configuration and brackets (700, 800) for fixing the tiers of racks to a support structure (2). Each rack has formations (H1, H2, H3) which enable it to be fixed to the brackets (700, 800) means and/or to the rack above it in the tiered configuration. In the field of retail displays there is a need for improvements to vertical, tiered displays primarily intended for laminar articles. A modular display (10) includes upper (11) and lower (16) modules. Each module has a pair of upstanding walls (12, 13, 17, 18) spaced from one another to define an open ended receptacle. The lower end of an upper module (11) and an upper part of lower module (16) have mutually engageable connector parts for connecting the modules together. This avoids the need for connector parts engageable with the free, upper edge of a wall (12, 17).

The aim of the invention is to simplify the production of one-piece, three-dimensional shaped bodies, and to provide three-dimensional shaped bodies which can be easily produced. To these ends, the invention provides that a plate (106) which is resistant to bending at room temperature is heated only in heating regions along deformation lines, especially bending lines (116), and is subsequently deformed freely in space, i.e. without the use of a stop edge, indentation, template or die, whereby the attained spatial shape is permanently preserved after cooling during which the material blank (106) is kept.

The display apparatus 2 comprises a cascading display device 4 which defines three elongate channels 6, 8, 10 in which articles, for example magazines or newspapers, may be arranged and displayed. The display device 4 is supported by a support device 12 which extends between a rear wall 14, situated behind the device 4, and the display device and is arranged to support the display device against downwards movement. The support device includes a support flange 78 which extends into a gap defined between limbs 34, 36 of respective channels 6, 8. Support rods 16 extend between the wall 14 and the display device 4 and are arranged to space the display device 4 from the wall 14; to prevent the display device 4 from pivoting about the support device 12; and to add rigidity to the display apparatus. In another embodiment, a support device is provided which includes support flanges which extend into respective gaps defined between the first and second channels 6, 8 and the second and third channels 8, 10.
