An apparatus for retaining a heater on an injection molding nozzle comprises a retaining body configured to fit around the injection molding nozzle. The retaining body has two flanges extending inward. One is configured to be received in a groove in the injection molding nozzle; the other is configured to be received in a groove in the heater. An axial slot allows the retaining body to elastically spread outward. The retaining body also has at least one aperture that receives a thermocouple. The aperture is preferably an elongated hole having an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of the retaining body. Preferably the heater is a thick-film heater and the thermocouple is installed adjacent one on the resistive elements of the thick-film heater. When the resistive elements produce different heat levels, the thermocouple is preferably installed adjacent the resistive element that produces the greatest heat.

In one form, a plurality of layers are disposed onto the substrate, along with a pair of terminal pads. A protective cover defining at least one aperture is disposed over the layers and is secured to the raised flanges and the opposed chamfered surfaces of the substrate, and the aperture is disposed proximate the terminal pads. A pair of lead wires is secured to the pair of terminal pads, and a lead cap assembly is disposed around the pair of lead wires and is secured to the protective cover. The apparatus comprises a nozzle (21) to guide a raw material to flow into an injection mold (70), a microwave transmission part positioned at a portion of the nozzle (21), and a microwave generation part (50) positioned near the nozzle (21) to generate and irradiate microwaves to the microwave transmission part. With this structure, vulcanization of the raw material injected into the injection mold (70) occurs uniformly and rapidly within the injection mold (70), thereby improving a quality of an injection molded product while increasing a speed of injection operation.
