Powring edges in the form of projecting material strips are used on packing containers for e.g. liquid foodstuffs. The pouring edge is generally covered by a tear-off cover strip (6) which also serves as a closure for a pouring opening (7). In order to prevent the pouring edge strip (8) from being torn off or deformed at the removal of the cover strip (6), the same is given a z-folded form and is joined to the outside of the packing container in two seating areas situated at a distance from each other, the doubled area located in between projecting from the packing container and guiding the out folwing liquid.

Um eine solche Packung mit einfachen Mitteln ohne zusätzlichem Materialaufwand noch standfester, stabiler und vom Benutzer besser greifbar zu machen, auch wenn die eine Stirnwand rund und die gegenüberliegende viereckig ist, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, daß in gegenüberliegenden Bereichen im Tubus, sich über die ganze Höhe des Tubus und parallel zu dessen Mittelachse erstreckende lange Faltungslinien (18) vorgesehen sind und daß von den vier Ecken (19) des Bodens ausgehend Formübergangsfaltlinien (20) im Tubus angeordnet sind, die vom Boden über ein Drittel bis zwei Drittel der Höhe des Tubus in Richtung Deckel (2) verlaufend angeordnet sind.

Packing containers of the non-returnable type are manufactured from weblike packing material which by folding and sealing is converted to parallelepipedic packing containers. For reasons of geometry triangular corner lugs (5) are formed in the preocess which are folded in and sealed to the bottom wall of the packing container. The folding takes place along the edges of the bottom wall which adjoin the corner lugs (5) but, since the corner lugs (5) consist of several layers of material, they are difficult to fold in a sharp and well- defined manner, which has a negative effect on the flatness of the bottom wall. To facilitate the folding the corner lugs (5) are delimited from the adjoining bottom wall by means of a crease line (10) weakening the material which extends at an angle over the bottom wall of the packing container. As a result the material will be folded on the one hand along the crease line, on the other hand along the actual straight bottom wall edge which appreciably improves the flatness of the packing container bottom.
