Abstract:
Disclosed herein are methods for diagnosing the state of an epithelial tumor or tissue in a subject. Also disclosed are methods of diagnosing tumor initiation in an epithelial tissue of a subject. Also disclosed are methods of determining prognosis of a subject with an epithelial tumor. These methods include, in part, measuring the amount of pSer239-VASP, pSerl57-VASP, and/or total VASP in a subject or in a tissue or tumor of a subject and comparing those levels to an appropriate reference level. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present invention.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a marker for predicting a gastric cancer prognosis, a composition and a kit for predicting gastric cancer prognosis comprising an agent for measuring the expression level thereof, and a method for predicting gastric cancer prognosis using the marker. According to the present invention, gastric cancer prognosis may be predicted promptly and accurately, and an appropriate treatment plan can be determined based on the predicted prognosis, which has an advantage of contributing to significant reduction of death caused by gastric cancer. Particularly, according to the present invention, the survival rate can be remarkably increased by using the treatment method for a stage III gastric cancer patient to a patient who has been predicted to have a negative prognosis among stage Ib/II gastric cancer patients.
Abstract:
Methods using mass spectral data analysis and a classification algorithm provide an ability to determine whether a colorectal cancer (CRC) patient is likely to benefit from a drug targeting an epidermal growth factor receptor pathway, such as monoclonal antibody EGFR inhibitors.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to means and methods for the identification of responders for or a patient sensitive to a modulator of the HER2/neu (ErbB2) signaling pathway. Also described herein are corresponding methods of treatment of a group of patients determined and defined in accordance with the identification method of the present invention, whereby said group of patients is known or suspected to suffer from or being prone to suffer from gastric cancer, in particular invasive gastric cancer.
Abstract:
A method of predicting clinical outcome in a subject diagnosed with colorectal cancer comprising determining evidence of the expression of an RNA transcript of EREG or its expression product in a biological sample of cancer cells obtained from the subject.
Abstract:
A method of predicting clinical outcome in a subject diagnosed with colorectal cancer comprising determining evidence of the expression of an RNA transcript of GADD45B or an expression product thereof in a biological sample of cancer cells obtained from the subject.
Abstract:
A method of predicting clinical outcome in a subject diagnosed with colorectal cancer comprising determining evidence of the expression of an RNA transcript of cMYC or an expression product thereof in a biological sample of cancer cells obtained from the subject.
