摘要:
A design for a high-speed tire tread is provided that gives improved performance in both water and snow conditions. The tread region of the tire uses transversely-oriented grooves that each extend across the width of the tread region. There are no grooves or other tread features that provide substantial fluid communication between the transversely- oriented grooves. Features are also provided that decrease the pull under torque associated with such a design.

An inclined groove (11) has a first inclined groove (101) and a second inclined groove (102). The first inclined groove (101) intersects a tire equator line (CL) and extends to one side (W1) outward in the tire width direction proceeding from the forward side (F) to the rearward side (B) in the rotation direction. The second inclined groove (102) intersects the tire equator line (CL) and the first inclined groove (101), and extends to the other side (W2) outward in the tire width direction proceeding from the forward side (F) in the rotation direction to the rearward side (B) in the rotation direction. The first inclined groove (101) and the second inclined groove (102) have forward side curved grooves (111), (121) located at the forward side (F) in the rotation direction, and rearward side curved grooves (112), (122) located at the rearward side (B) in the rotation direction.

The invention relates to a pneumatic vehicle tire having a profiled tread with main grooves (1) running diagonally, wherein at the base (Ia) of the main grooves (1) and on at least one of the sides (9) bordering these grooves (1) on the side, raised projections (10, 11) are formed which extend at an angle (alpha) to the peripheral direction, which is at least 5° smaller than the angle between the direction in which the main grooves (1) extend and the peripheral direction. The raised projections are sawtooth-like in cross section and are designed with a flat side (10a) and a steep side (10b), wherein the flat side (10a) faces the center of the tire.

A pneumatic tire, for which noises of passage are decreased while draining performance being maintained on a directional tread pattern, and a pneumatic tire set. Arranged on a tread surface, for which a direction of tire revolution is indicated, alternately in a circumferential direction of a tire are groups of rightwardly inclined grooves, each group composed of a unit of grooves starting at a tread center portion and inclining in a direction opposite to the direction of tire revolution to pass through a rightward shoulder edge, and groups of leftwardly inclined grooves, each group composed of a unit of grooves starting at the tread center portion and inclining in the direction opposite to the direction of tire revolution to pass through a leftward shoulder edge. Formed on the tread center portion are a single, main rib, which is defined zigzaggedly in a circumferential direction of the tire by starting ends of the groups of rightwardly inclined grooves and the groups of leftwardly inclined grooves, and sub-ribs branching off the main rib along the groups of rightwardly inclined grooves and the groups of leftwardly inclined grooves. Further, noises are decreased by lessening a groove area ratio for a tire for rear wheels, and providing small grooves at variable pitches on the sub-ribs of a tire for idler wheels.

A pneumatic tire in which occurrence of uneven wear observed in a conventional lug-type tread pattern can be prevented without causing degradation in the various characteristics of the tire, the pneumatic tire having a tread pattern in which lug grooves (2) are disposed in the opposing tread shoulder regions at a predetermined pitch in the circumferential direction of the tire, the main lug grooves being so arranged as to provide circumferential phase difference between the opposing tread shoulder regions, wherein a narrow shallow groove (3) is disposed in the central region (S) of the tread portion (1) in the tread width direction for connecting the main lug grooves (2) located in the opposing tread shoulder regions, and a shallow groove portion (4) is formed in the shoulder end region inside the main lug groove.
