A foldable stirrup for mounting animals such as horses has a support arm for engagement with a stirrup leather and a base pivotally coupled to the support arm for supporting a rider's foot while mounting when the stirrup is in an open configuration. A mounting assist strap configured to engage the stirrup and provide a point of securement on the animal to be mounted is provided. Methods of mounting an animal using the foldable stirrup and mounting assist strap are provided.

A loft sensor detects when the vehicle leaves the ground and when the vehicle returns to the ground. A controller subsystem converts the sensed information to determine a loft time. A display shows the recorded loft time to a user of the system. In addition, a speed sensor can detect the vehicle's speed for selective display to the user. A power sensing section informs the user of expended energy, which can be compared to other users. A drop distance sensing unit informs the user of the peak height of a jump, during an airtime. A device and a method for monitoring a plane in space over an interval of time to create an image representing the time history of the plane in space. A line image sensor (2) captures a series of line images of the plane in space which are converted to digital information by an A/D converter (4) for storage in solid state memory (3). To product a time history image of the plane in space, the line images can be retrieved from the solid state memory (3) by a computer (7). The computer (7) displays the series of line images adjacent to each other to create the time history image. The present invention has a number of applications, including photo finish cameras.
