    摘要: A character recognition system receives an unknown character and recognizes the character based on a pre-trained recognition model. Prior to recognizing the character, the character recognition system may pre-process the character to rotate the character to a normalized orientation. By rotating the character to a normalized orientation in both training and recognition stages, the character recognition system releases the pre-trained recognition model from considering character prototypes in different orientations and thereby speeds up recognition of the unknown character. In one example, the character recognition system rotates the character to the normalized orientation by aligning a line between a sum of coordinates of starting points and a sum of coordinates of ending points of each stroke of the character with a normalized direction.

    摘要: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for offloading packet processing for networking device virtualization. A host maintains rule set(s) for a virtual machine, and a physical network interface card (NIC) maintains flow table(s) for the virtual machine. The physical NIC receives and processes a network packet associated with the virtual machine. Processing the network packet includes the physical NIC comparing the network packet with the flow table(s) at the physical NIC. When the network packet matches with a flow in the flow table(s) at the physical NIC, the physical NIC performs an action on the network packet based on the matching flow. Alternatively, when the network packet does not match with a flow in the flow table(s) at the physical NIC, the physical NIC passes the network packet to the host partition for processing against the rule set(s).

    摘要: Techniques described herein enable a client to store information indicating whether various hosts (e.g., servers, web domains) support a preferred security protocol, such as a False Start-modified TLS or SSL protocol. The client may then use this information to dynamically determine whether to use the preferred protocol when connecting to a particular host. When the client attempts a handshake to establish a secure connection with a host for the first time, the client does so using the preferred protocol. If the handshake fails, the client locally stores domain or other identifying information for the host so that the client may employ a non-preferred protocol in subsequent connection attempts. Thus, a client may avoid performance degradation caused by attempting a preferred-protocol connection with a host that does not support the preferred protocol. Stored information may include a time stamp enable periodic checks for host capability updates.

    摘要: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for implementing persistent reservation techniques for establishing ownership of one or more physical disks. These persistent reservation techniques can be employed to determine ownership of physical disks in a storage pool as well as in any other storage configuration. Using the persistent reservation techniques of the present invention, when a network partition occurs, a defender of a physical disk does not remove a challenger's registration key until the defender receives notification that the challenger is no longer in the defender's partition. In this way, pending I/O from applications executing on the challenger will not fail due to the challenger's key being removed until the proper ownership of the physical disk can be resolved.
