A method for improved spreading of information in a network is described, together with corresponding methods with the opposite aim, namely to hinder the spreading of harmful information in a network. The harmful information may be (for example) a data virus. The first method includes as its characterizing feature to connect at least one node of high Eigenvector Centrality Index in a first region with at least one node of high Eigenvector Centrality Index in a second region. These connections may be made using direct links, or with the help of a new node lying between the nodes to be connected. One method for preventing spreading of information or physical traffic in a network may include as its characterizing feature to inoculate at least one centre node by blocking any transmission of unwanted information on all links in/out of said centre node. Another method for preventing spreading of information or physical traffic may be to inoculate all nodes in a ring of nodes surrounding a centre node by blocking any transmission of unwanted information on all links in/out of said nodes. Still another method may be to inoculate at least one bridge link connecting two regions by blocking any transmission of unwanted information on said link.

The invention relates to a method for providing mobile communication terminal location data. In the method, radio signal is received from a beacon in a wireless local area network. Next, beacon identification data that identifies the beacon is derived, based on the received radio signal. The identification data is transmitted to a server. Beacon location data is then provided by and received from the server. Mobile communication terminal location data , particularly presence data that indicates that the mobile communication terminal is in the vicinity of the beacon, is derived from the beacon location data. Upon such detected presence, an additional application process is advantageously executed. The method is executed by a processing device in a subscriber identity module that is included in the mobile communication terminal, thus achieving hidden operation and portability. The invention also relates to a subscriber identity module and a system operating in accordance with the method.

The invention relates to a method for providing an animation from prerecorded still pictures where the relative positions of the pictures are known. The method is based on prerecorded still pictures and location data, associated with each still picture, that indicates the projection of the subsequent still picture into the current still picture. The method comprises the repeated steps of providing a current still picture, providing the location data associated with the still picture, generating an animation based on the current still picture and the location data, and presenting the animation on a display. The invention provides the experience of driving a virtual car through the photographed roads, either by an auto pilot or manually. The user may change speed, drive, pan, shift lane, turn in crossings or take u-turns anywhere. Also, the invention provides a means to experience real time, interactive video-like animation from widely separated still pictures, as an alternative to video-streaming over a communication line. This service is called Virtual Car Travels.

A cellphone Presence and Locating system includes antenna(s) with associated receiver(s) extracting user information, presence and location data from a plurality of mobile cellphones with a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card containing a low duty cycle transmitter. The transmitter communicates with the SIM processor and extracts user and configuration information. The transmitter broadcast messages containing selected SIM and other information at intervals or on demand. These transmissions are processed by a receiving station, and additional information such as signal strength, time of arrival and direction is extracted. This data is used to determine local presence or a more accurate location within the coverage area and is added to the specific SIM information before being passed on to an information processing server. The information processing server selects relevant prestored files and delivers these to the originating cellphone via a mobile communication network.

The invention relates to a subscriber identity module for a mobile communication terminal, comprising a processing device, a memory device, an I/O device and a wireless communication device, in particular an interrogatable transponder such as an RFID transponder. The RFID transponder is operatively controllable by said processing device, and comprises a memory which contains identification data, configurable by the processing device. The RFID-enabled subscriber identification module may be used as an authentication token. A method for providing secure communications between the subscriber identification module and an RFID interrogating device is also provided.
