    摘要: A highly active and selective zeolitic reforming catalyst comprises a type L zeolite containing platinum metal and at least one promoter selected from iron, cobalt, titanium and the rare earth metals, the catalyst having a platinum to promoter metal mole ratio of less than 10:1. In one embodiment a type L zeolite is formed by combining an aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide, and ferric nitrate with an aqueous solution of silica to form a thickening gel in a mother liquor; heating the thickening gel to form a type L zeolite; cooling the gel containing the type L zeolite; decanting the mother liquor from the gel; filtering the type L zeolite from the gel; washing the filtered type L zeolite so that the pH of the wash is about 10.5 and drying the washed type L zeolite. The catalyst is formed by adding platinum to the dried type Lzeolite by porefill impregnation with an aqueous solution of Pt(NH 3 ) 4 (NO 3 ) 2 to form a catalyst; drying the catalyst and then calcining the dried catalyst.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for recording acoustical and seismic signals at the ocean bottom with minimal noise. A seafloor seismic recorder (101) couples geophones to the water bottom, stores the seismic data, and is retrievable. The device is comprised of a chassis (103), a ballast ring (113), an electronics control package (123), a geophone package (141), a buoy means (171), and a leg extension means. The geophone package (141) is disconnectably connected to the portion of the control package housing (123), so that the geophone package (141) can remain coupled to the seafloor, when the control package (123) and chassis (103) rise toward the surface for a short distance. The buoy means (171) permits the ballast ring (113) and geophone package (141) to become embedded in the sediment upon impact, and allows the chassis (103), geophone package (141), and control package (123) to rise to the surface upon release of the ballast ring (113). Leg members (107) can be partially extended to cause the chassis (103) and control package (123) to rise toward the surface for a short distance, to isolate the geophone package (141) from the control package (123) and chassis (103) during recording operations.
