An adaptor assembly makes it possible to mount an electric fixture, such as a ceiling fan or electric lighting fixture, to a ceiling with a slope greater than 32°. The adaptor assembly includes a slope angle extension cover formed as a truncated conical surface with a bottom end lying in a first plane adapted for attachment to a standard fixture canopy and a top end lying in a second plane at an angle of 26° to the first plane and adapted to be attached through an adaptor mounting plate to a junction box mounted in a recess in the ceiling. The mounting plate has a plurality of radial slots and is rotated to bring a pair of slots in alignment with screw holes in mounting lugs on the junction box for attachment with screws. The mounting plate has a pair of deformations providing flat wall portions which, when the mounting plate is installed are in parallel to the bottom end of the extension cover. A pair of screws each extend through the flat wall portion of a deformation and a screw hole provided through the bottom end of the cover to mount the cover with the top end confronting and parallel to the sloped ceiling. An insulation disk is sandwiched between the mounting plate and the ceiling and is secured to the mounting plate by a pair of adhesive tabs.

An air purifier (10) is disclosed including an electrically motorized fan (12). The air purifier includes a manual touch pad controller (16) which allows the manual operation of the air purifier and a computer interface which allows the user to control the fan speed through a personal computer (18). The software can allow the user to utilize the computer to automatically turn the air purifier on or off, change the fan speed, indicate the percentage of filter life remaining, and provide a mode of operation which includes a timer mode, wake mode or snooze mode that is in sync with the computer. In an air purifier wake mode, the air purifier is turned "on" whenever the computer is in an awake mode and turned "off" whenever the computer is in a sleep mode. In an air purifier snooze mode, the air purifier is turned "on" whenever the computer is in a sleep mode and turned "off" when the computer is in an awake mode.

The motor includes a bottom mounting plate (14) that rotates and thereby drives an annular array of blade irons (16), each having a blade (17) mounted thereto in conventional fashion. An annular balancing ring (28) causes pivotal and radial movement of other blade irons (36) in response to the radial movement of an off-balanced blade iron (35).

A system (100) for current and/or temperature control of light fixtures includes a sensor (110) structured to be in communication with a light fixture (150), sense a current flow or a temperature of the light fixture (150), and communicate an input signal relative to the current flow or the temperature; a variable switch (120) structured to be in communication with the light fixture (150) and regulate the current flow of the light fixture (150) in response to a control signal; and a controller (130) in communication with the sensor (110) and the variable switch (120) and structured to monitor the input signal communicated by the sensor (110), compare the input signal to a condition, and communicate the control signal to the variable switch (120) to control its operation. A method for current and/or temperature control of light fixtures includes providing the system (100), monitoring the current flow or the temperature of the light fixture (150); and regulating the current flow of the light fixture (150).
