Abstract:
Footwear item (20) comprising an upper portion (22) that reaches up to at least the ankle; at least one string on lace (26, 28; 226) that runs through eyelets arranged along the edges of an opening up on the front the upper portion, and that tightens up, thereby drawing the edges of said opening closer to each other, when it is pulled in a fastening direction (W); a string locking arrangement (50; 150; 200), provided in the upper portion (22) having one or more passages (54a, 54b, 58a, 58b, 154a, 154b) in which said at least one string (26, 28; 226) is inserted and is capable of sliding when the wearer pulls it, while being capable of being retained there by locking means when it is at rest. The footwear item is characterized in that said locking means are comprises of an oscillating locking member (60; 160; 260) in contact with said at least one string (26, 28; 226) to slide when the latter is pulled in the fastening direction, and which on the contrary gets stuck onto said at least one string (26, 28; 226) and locks it in position when the contrary gets stuck onto said at least one string (26, 28; 226) and locks it is position when the latter undergoes a tension in a direction opposite to the pulling or fastening one.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a lace-up device designed to equip a footwear (CH), enabling to tie the shoelace tightly without hurting the hands. The lace-up device comprises a gripping element (1) arranged on the shoelace (15) at the loop (2) formed by the shoelace (15) outside the lace-up zone (16). The gripping device (1) comprises a rigid structure (3) for distributing the tension of the shoelace (15) over the user's hand (M).
Abstract:
Footwear having a lace fastening is described and comprises an opening (5) having a first edge and a second edge (5a, 5b) which are juxtaposed and which each have a plurality of lacing eyes(10a, 11a; 10b, 11b), between which at least one lace (12, 13) of the fastening extends, and a tongue-form flap (6) extending along the edges (5a, 5b) at the location of the opening (5). The footwear also comprises at least one lace-locking device (15) secured to the flap (6) in a position between the edges (5a, 5b), so that respective ends of the at least one lace (12, 13) that extend through corresponding end lacing eyes (11a, 11b) of the fastening are locked in the device (15) with a selected tensioning in order consequently to close the fastening with the desired degree of tightening.
Abstract:
Shoe with improved closure device, said shoe comprising a sole (60), an upper (62) with seats for a lace (19) fixed at one end to said shoe upper, and a closure device acting on said lace (19), characterized in that said closure device comprises:
a tightener (1) fixed to said shoe and connected to said lace (19); a driving member for said tightener, comprising a cable (27) having one end connected to said tightener (1) and the opposite end being associated to said shoe at a location easy to be reached by a user; a releasing mechanism for said tightener (1), to allow opening of said shoe.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
This invention relates to a shoe having an ergometric shoe lace design. The laces pass through tubes on the tongue portion of the shoe and extend down to the sole of the shoe on either side of the shoe where they pass through tubes on or near the perimeter of the sole. The laces crisscross the foot in this manner to secure the foot from up and down motion in the shoe. Optionally the lace may continue to be wrapped around the heel of the foot through ankle tubes and heel tubes to secure the foot from toe to heel movement in the shoe. This is particularly of advantage for shoes used in sporting activities. In this manner the upper of the shoe is not pulled together on either side of the tongue as in conventional shoes, thus avoiding stresses in the upper that tend to put pressure on and rub against the user's foot. Thus the shoe is comfortably and securely held to the user's foot.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a shoe (10) with a tongue (12) and laces comprising:
(a) retainer means (16; 46); (b) said tongue (12) having a front face (28) and a rear face (30); (c) said retainer means (16; 46) being affixed to the front face (28) of said tongue (12); (d) a slot (26) extending entirely through the front face (28) and the rear face (30) of said tongue (12), said slot (26) being displaced from said retainer means (16; 46) sufficiently to permit a knot to be tied therebetween; (e) an elastic band (18) having a fixed end (24) and a distal end (20), said fixed end (24) being fixed to the rear face (30) of said tongue (12) and said distal end (20) being arranged for extending through said slot (26) for engagement with said retainer means (16; 46); and (f) said elastic band (18) being configured to extend over a tied knot of the laces, to interengage with said retainer means (16; 46), and to grasp the knot from opposed sides with sufficient tension to impede the knot from becoming untied. In one embodiment the retainer means comprises a hook member (16). Alternatively the retainer means can be one part of a separable fastener, the complementary part of which is carried by the distal end of the elastic band.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to articles that include a tightening mechanism, such as reel-based lace tightening mechanism, configured to tighten the article by rotation of a knob. The articles can include a concealing portion that is configured to conceal or protect at least a portion of the tightening mechanism, such as the knob. The concealing portion can be configured to prevent unintentional actuation of the tightening mechanism, such as during contact sports. The concealing portion can be configured to hide the tightening mechanism from view to improve the visual appearance of the article. The concealing portion can be collapsible such that a user can press the concealing portion down to expose the knob of the tightening mechanism.
Abstract:
A retention system for footwear can include opposed closure elements and a tensioner configured to urge the opposed closure elements toward each other in response to a tensile force applied to the tensioner. Opposed first and second anchors can be spaced from the tensioner. A retainer can have opposed first and second retainer couplers. The first retainer coupler can operatively engage the first anchor and the second retainer coupler can operatively engage the second anchor such that a tensile load applied to one or both of the first and second retainer couplers urges the retainer toward one or both of the first and second anchors. Each of the retainer couplers can be operatively engaged with the tensioner such that a tensile load applied to the tensioner urges the first retainer coupler and the second retainer coupler into tension and thereby urges the retainer toward one or both of the anchors.
