For this purpose a separation plant has a bristle belt (10) with at least three deflections (12, 13, 14), of which the third deflection (14) in the direction of transport is situated below the second deflection (13).

The present invention is an apparatus for segregating desired parts of predetermined dimension from a jumbled flow of such parts and by-product runners. The apparatus includes structure (30) that defines a path for restricting the jumbled flow to a fixed-flow space along a flow length. The apparatus comprises a three-dimensional array of rotatable pickup fingers (44) substantially filling the fixed-flow space and extending therebyeond. The apparatus further includes a suitable device for continuously moving successive distal portions of the rotatable finger array out of and into the fixed-flow space. The rotatable fingers (44) are spaced apart by distances greater than the predetermined dimensions of the desired parts but less than the longest dimension of the runners, for capturing the runners while allowing the desired parts to pass through the pickup-finger array. The apparatus additionally comprises stationary fingers (76), positioned to intermesh with the rotatable finger array, for causing the desired parts to become separated from the by-product runners. The apparatus further includes additional structure so located and configured as to remove the runners from the rotating fingers (44) during rotation of the finger array and allow the thus-removed runners to be conveyed under the influence of gravity away from the apparatus.

Procede et installation pour le tri de matieres en grains ou de semences comme par exemple des grains de cafe. Le probleme principal lors du tri de matieres de ce genre, reside dans la forme des grains qui est tres eloignee d'une forme ronde, ce qui a pour consequence que les grains traversent les mailles d'un tamis egalement en fonction de leur position par rapport a ce tamis. Dans le procede decrit la matiere a trier est dans une premiere etape debarrassee des matieres etrangeres puis triee dans un tamis en mouvement (15, 16) de preference lineaire. Le mouvement vibratoire en liaison avec des chicanes de barrage produit un etalement de la matiere sur la surface du tamis et contraint les grains a se deplacer suivant leur axe longitudinal. On augmente ainsi la probabilite que les grains se presentent par leur section la plus reduite et traversent ainsi les mailles du tamis. Le rendement de l'operation de tamisage s'en trouve augmente. L'installation comporte au-dessus du tamis (15, 16) des chicanes de barrage (21) transversales au mouvement de la matiere realisees de preference en une matiere elastique comme du caoutchouc rigide.

A conveyor (4) arranged to transfer chopped wood pieces (P1), wherein it comprises a feed end and a discharge end, and a transfer surface extending between the feed end and the discharge end and arranged to move the chopped wood pieces (P1) from the feed end to a discharge point at the discharge end, characterized in that between the feed end and the discharge end the conveyor (4) comprises a downwards closed transfer surface, and the conveyor (4) is provided with a litter separation point at a distance from the feed end, across which separation point the conveyor is arranged to carry the chopped wood pieces (P1), wherein the separation point is arranged to direct the litter into the area between the feed end and the discharge point. In a preferred embodiment the conveyor is integrated into a wood chopping device.
