摘要:
The present description relates to a process of producing a dry mixed product comprising cellulose filament (CF) and a carrier fiber, and a dry mixed product of re-dispersible cellulose filament and a carrier fiber that permits the CF to retain its dispersibility in water and hence superior reinforcement ability in papermaking furnishes, composite materials, or other materials where CF is used. The process comprises mixing a water suspension of never-dried CF with a cellulose fiber pulp carrier followed by thickening to a suitable concentration so that it can be further processed and dried in a conventional device such as a dryer can of a pulp machine or a flash dryer.

Various embodiments of the present invention relate to surface enhanced pulp fibers, various products incorporating surface enhanced pulp fibers, and methods and systems for producing surface enhanced pulp fibers. Various embodiments of surface enhanced pulp fibers have significantly increased surface areas compared to conventional refined fibers while advantageously minimizing reductions in length following refinement. The surface enhanced pulp fibers can be incorporated into a number of products that might benefit from such properties including, for example, paper products, paperboard products, fiber cement boards, fiber reinforced plastics, fluff pulps, hydrogels, cellulose acetate products, and carboxymethyl cellulose products. In some embodiments, a plurality of surface enhanced pulp fibers have a length weighted average fiber length of at least about 0.3 millimeters and an average hydrodynamic specific surface area of at least about 10 square meters per gram, wherein the number of surface enhanced pulp fibers is at least 12,000 fibers/milligram on an oven-dry basis.

The is provided a method of manufacturing a sack paper having a Gurley porosity (ISO 5636-5) of less than 25 s, comprising the steps of: a) mixing an unbleached pulp with a bleached pulp to obtain a pulp mixture in such proportions that the dry weight ratio of unbleached pulp to bleached pulp in the pulp mixture is between 7:1 and 1:1; and b) forming the sack paper from said pulp mixture.

The present invention relates to a process of manufacturing paper or paperboard which comprises providing (a) a mechanical pulp and (b) a wood free pulp, combining (a) the mechanical pulp and (b) the wood free pulp to form a mixed pulp comprising no more than 20 % by total dry weight of fiber of the mechanical pulp, flowing the mixed pulp as a medium consistency stock and combining the medium consistency stock with dilution water to form a low consistency stock, draining the low consistency stock through a wire or mesh to form a sheet of paper which is dried, in which additional filler and a cationic polymer are added to the mechanical pulp.

A method of producing a fibre web, and the fibre web. According to the present method, a fibre material layer is formed from fibre pulp, by using foam forming, which layer is then dried. According to the present invention, at least part of the fibre pulp is mechanical or chemi-mechanical pulp, which is ozonised before the foam forming. By using ozonisation, the pulp to be foamed is improved, as regards both fibre bonding and the removal of the wood extractives, during pulp preparation. The manufactured products are suitable, for example, for end uses, where the packages are intended to be light and strong, and the properties of which ensure that the taste and smell of the products are not tainted, such as sales and storage packages for food supplies, chocolate and cigarettes.

An uncoated recording medium includes a blend of hardwood, softwood, and thermomechanical pulp fibers. A total fiber content is at least 80 wt% of a total wt% of the uncoated recording medium. The hardwood fibers range from about 20 wt% to 70 wt%, the softwood fibers range from about 30 wt% to 50 wt%, and the TMP fibers range from about 10 wt% to 40 wt% relative to the total fiber content. Filler(s) range from about 3 wt% to 14 wt% of the total wt% of the uncoated recording medium. The medium has i) a basis weight ranging from about 45 g/m 2 to 63 g/m 2 , ii) an MD L&W 5° bending stiffness ranging from about 0.14 mNm to 0.30 mNm and a CD L&W 5° bending stiffness ranging from about 0.12 mNm to 0.15 mNm, and iii) a normalized opacity ranging from about 1.25 to 1.60.
