摘要： Each step (15) is a molded one-piece hard elastomer member having a pair of rope-receiving openings, (33) the upper outlet from which closely confines a pair of ropes (13,14) while the bottom of the opening is much wider. Each wedge collar (17) has a pair of vertical bolt passages (57,58) aligned with those of the step (15) to enable bolting the step (15) to the collar (17). A generally diamond-shaped wedge heart (18) is wedged in between the two ropes (13,14) of each pair, lying partly inside the opening (33) through the step (15) and partly inside the opening through (54) the wedge collar (17). The wedge heart (18) has an upper vertex (63) a lower vertex (64) and two rope-engaging side grooves, which lock the pair of ropes in place.

摘要： An extendable/retractable ladder assembly (100) includes a first stile (104) and a second stile (106) and a plurality of rungs (118, 120, 150) extending therebetween. Each stile may comprise a plurality of columns (108, 110, 112, 114) disposed in a nested arrangement for relative axial movement in a telescopic fashion. A connector assembly (116) connects the rungs to respective columns in the first and second stiles. The ladder has improved manufacturability since connector assemblies may be assembled before connecting the rungs to respective columns. The standing surface of the rungs may be angled such that it is rotated towards horizontal when the ladder assembly is leaned against a wall. A latch assembly may be used to selectively lock relative axial movement between adjacent columns. The latch assembly includes a locking pin assembly comprised of a central post and an outer metal sleeve. An air damper may also be used to control airflow through the columns.
