A scalable process and device for producing a biomolecule, in particular pharmaceutical grade plasmid DNA is described. The process includes the steps of alkaline lysis, neutralization and clarification and can be further extended. For separating the lysate and the precipitate an improved floatation method is disclosed. This method is based on attachment of CO 2 bubbles on the precipitate floc. The CO 2 is released from a carbonate salt during or after neutralization (acidification). The method of the invention is preferably carried out in an automated continuous mode applying devices for lysis and neutralization and a novel device for completely continuous clarification (separation of flocs and clarified lysate).

A heat transfer apparatus for processing a liquid (II, 41) continuously has a positive mechanical drive for a set of vertical whip rods (14) each disposed in a vertical heat transfer tube (2). Each whip rod (14) is free-standing on its lower end and is sufficiently flexible to conform closely to the inner surface of the tube as it orbits. The orbital drive propels the whip rod directly through a pair of horizontal, vertically spaced plates (11, 12) that engage the rods (14) in loose openings (27, 27') that serve as fluid inlets from the drive plate. A motor (18) rotates a drive shaft (17) coupled to at least one eccentric crank (16, 16'). Each plate (11, 12) can be an opposed pair of plates (11, 11') with separate eccentric drives 180 degrees out of phase with one another for self-balancing.

The process for producing a powdery anionic surfactant according to the present invention, wherein a powdery anionic surfactant is produced by using an evaporator having a heat transfer wall and rotating blades rotating along the inner surface of the heat transfer wall, which comprises feeding the anionic surfactant in the form of an aqueous slurry thereof having a solid concentration of from 60 to 80 wt.% into the evaporator, forming a film of the anionic surfactant on the inner surface of the heat transfer wall by rotating the blades, and scraping the film from the inner heat transfer wall with the rotating blades and powdering while continuously concentrating and drying the aqueous anionic surfactant slurry.

The present invention discloses a ring dryer, comprising a housing, a top cover provided at the top of the housing, and a base provided at the bottom of the housing, and further comprising a feeding system into which the material to be dried flows, a material coating assembly, a material extrusion assembly, a discharging scraper, and at least two cylinders with different radii, wherein each of the cylinders is provided with a heat medium flow path inside, an annular groove is formed between the adjacent cylinders, and a material outlet is provided at a free end of the feeding system; the material to be dried in the feeding system flows into the annular groove along the material outlet; the material coating assembly, the material extrusion assembly and the discharging scraper are movably arranged in the annular groove and can move along the annular groove relative to the cylinders; and a blade of the discharging scraper is respectively in contact with an inner circumferential surface of the cylinder and an outer circumferential surface of the adjacent cylinder. The present invention has the advantages in that the drying area of the material to be dried is increased, and the material to be dried does not need to be vigorously stirred by the components of the present invention so as to reduce friction between the material to be dried and the components, thereby extending the service life.
