摘要： A flat-proof rim for a pneumatic tyre of a wheel is disclosed. The flat-proof rim includes a circular rim body (10) having an outer periphery. A plurality of spaced linkages are arranged along and movably connected to the outer periphery of the rim body (10), and each have a hoof (40) adapted to be movable between a radially inner position and a radially outer position relative to the rim body (10). In addition, there is provided an apparatus for driving the linkages so that the hoofs (40) are moved from the radially inner positions to the radially outer positions when the pneumatic tyre is deflated while the wheel is rotated at a high speed.

摘要： A tire noise reducing system comprises a pneumatic tire, a wheel rim and a noise damper disposed in a cavity formed between the rim and tire when mounted as being surrounded by the tire and rim, the noise damper is made of a porous material having a specific gravity of from 0.005 to 0.06 and secured on a surface facing the cavity, the volume S2 of the noise damper is in a range of from 0.4 to 20.0 % of the volume S1 of the cavity. Preferably, the noise damper is provided with an uneven surface or an outer layer for less sound reflection, and the shape index E of the noise damper is more than 1, and the ratio T/W of the thickness T to the width W of the damper is not less than 1.

摘要： An assembly (10) for location around a wheel rim (32) comprises an annular support band (12) being formed of a relatively inextensible material. The support band (12) is split at at least one circumferential location to define a pair of opposed ends (16, 18). Adjustment means (24, 26, 28) are operably connected to said opposed ends (16, 18) for enabling adjustment of the diameter of the support band (12), and spacing means (14) depend from the radially inner face (34) of the support band (12). The spacing means (14) is formed from a relatively non-compressible material and, in use, is seated upon the wheel rim (32) to maintain the support band (12) in a spaced apart relationship with the wheel rim (32). The assembly may be adapted for use as a runflat assembly or as a beadlock assembly.
