摘要: A pump apparatus (1) comprises a pump head (2) and a container (20) for a liquid to be dispensed. The pump head (2) has a flexible dispensing tube (4) in fluid connection with the inside of the container (20). The fluid connection between the dispensing tube (4) and the inside of the container (20) is provided by a supply tube (28) which co-operates with the dispensing tube (4) to provide a non-return valve function. An end (48) of the supply tube (28) is disposed within an end of the dispensing tube (4) and the non-return valve function is provided by a hole (46) through a side wall of the supply tube (28) in a region where the dispensing tube (4) overlaps the supply tube, whereby the dispensing tube (4) provides a seal over the hole (46) to prevent ingress of fluid when the internal pressure is lower than the external pressure. Another aspect of the invention provides a container (20) for use in the pump apparatus.

摘要: A hand sanitizer (2) comprises: (a) a first part (14) comprising a chlorite solution and contained in a first dispenser (4) whereby it will be dispensed as a spray or jet of liquid; and (b) a second part (16) comprising an acid solution and contained in a second dispenser (6) whereby it will be dispensed as a second spray or jet of liquid; wherein the chlorite and the acid will react to provide chlorine dioxide when the first part is mixed with the second part; and wherein a mixture (18) of equal quantities of the first part and the second part contains at least 15% alcohol by weight; and wherein at least a part of the alcohol comprises 3-methoxy-3-methylbutan-1 -ol (MMB).

摘要: A method of producing a stream of aqueous chlorine dioxide sterilizing fluid suitable for use in sterilizing medical and dental equipment or for wound irrigation or skin asepsis is described. Steps are: pumping fluid portions of a first reagent and a second reagent into the proximal end of an elongate reaction chamber (24) to form a reaction mixture, the reagents being selected to react together to form aqueous chlorine dioxide; providing a stream of water around or adjacent to the distal end of the reaction chamber (24); continuing to pump fluid portions of said reagents so as to cause the reagent mixture to travel through the reaction chamber and then into the stream of water to form a stream of aqueous chlorine dioxide sterilizing fluid; wherein the pumping rates and the internal dimensions of the elongate reaction chamber (24) are selected so that the reaction to form chlorine dioxide is substantially complete when the reagent mixture exits the reaction chamber (24); and continuing pumping fluid portions of said reagents until a desired quantity of said sterilizing fluid has been produced; wherein the pumping of each reagent is carried out by means of a diaphragm pump (90, 92) or a piston pump via a pressure-control valve (32, 34) so that each fluid portion is pumped at substantially constant pressure.
