摘要: The treatment of tinnitus may include a tinnitus therapy including generating a tinnitus therapy sound that is similar to a patient's perceived tinnitus sound. In one example, a method for generating a tinnitus adjusted sound may include presenting a plurality of different sound templates to a user from a series of tinnitus therapy sound templates, receiving a selection by the user of one or more of the templates, receiving an adjustment to one or more of the selected templates, and generating a therapy sound based on the adjusted selections.

摘要: A system for psychoacoustic evaluation of tinnitus synthesizes a test sound that is customized for a patient using the patient's audiogram, a model of the tinnitus related to the patient's audiogram, a psychoacoustic loudness model, and various test-sound parameters. In various embodiments, the system automatically adjusts the intensity and spectral level of the test sound such that the intensity of the test sound as perceived by the patient remains approximately constant across various frequencies and/or sound types used in the psychoacoustic evaluation of tinnitus.

摘要: A tinnitus treatment system (1100) comprising a sound processing unit, a haptic stimulus unit (1102) and an audio delivery unit. The sound processing unit comprises a processor input for receiving an audio signal; and a digital signal processor operable to analyse said audio signal and generate a plurality of actuation signals therefrom which are representative of said audio signal. The digital signal processor is further operable to spectrally modify said audio signal in accordance with a predetermined modification profile to generate a modified audio signal. The haptic stimulus unit comprises an array of stimulators each of which can be independently actuated to apply a tactile stimulus to a subject; and a stimulus unit input for receiving the plurality of actuation signals generated by said digital signal processor and directing individual actuation signals to individual stimulators. The audio delivery unit comprises an audio delivery unit input for receiving the modified audio signal generated by said digital signal processor.

摘要: At least one exemplary embodiment is directed to a system for monitoring a sound pressure level dose at an ear which includes an audio transducer adapted to be placed within an ear to receive sound at the ear. The audio transducer outputs a sound signal. A sound level threshold detector receives the sound signal and determines whether a sound pressure level of the sound signal is at a minimum level and outputs a sound pressure level signal corresponding to a sound pressure level of the sound pressure level when the sound pressure level is not at the minimum level. A clock calculates a time period during which the sound pressure level is not at the minimum threshold level. A listening fatigue calculator receives the sound signal and the time period and determines whether a cumulative effect of exposure to the sound at the ear over a monitored time period will cause harm to the ear. At least a portion of the system is disposed in situ at the ear.
